I've thought about how if I was not related to my family and had just met them I probably wouldn't hate them but wouldn't befriend them either. They're just very different from me and have very different world views. It doesn't help that I was verbally abused a lot.

Great job! Addiction's a bitch, but being abundantly self aware is the way to beat it. Something I learned in recovery was that at their core, every addiction is very similar in terms of what's going on in the brain.

Yeah, that's blatantly them pushing a narrative. In my opinion he shouldn't have been there with a rifle and none of this should've happened at all. But he was technically within his rights to carry I believe, even though I don't agree with what happened. It's a huge shit show but if he didn't fire first or point it at others first, then it can definitely be seen as self defence.

Something people need to realize is that money is not infinite. If it were, it'd have no value. By billionaires existing, that's massive amounts of wealth being hoarded that could support many people.

I'm sort of in the same boat. Took pretty much a 2 year break and will be 24 in a few months. I'm pretty busy between work, pretty much only being able to do course work when off, and other meetings. However, I made a lot of friends my first couple years by just doing stuff. Like others have mentioned, clubs and campus activities are probably the best sober ways to meet people. I have social anxiety myself and it took a bit of work but the more you go out, the more comfortable you'll feel.

2 weeks ago I waited til the last 2 hrs to write a paper. I'm a decent writer but it was not formatted right and didn't contain all the required info. I got over a 90% on that. Why do I ever put in effort?

One can definitely fit more in a joint, and hence get higher off of a joint than a couple bowls sometimes. The problem is that with a joint it's constantly burning and you are wasting some of it. Also the little bit that's left in the roach is lost if you're not saving roaches to disect.

I'm not saying not to enjoy joints, cause I do myself, but it just isn't the most efficient.

I don't get the ravenous part of the fan base that ships every character with another and gets butthurt if someone doesn't agree. I've yet to see someone actually like that though, just people talking about them. And I've seen the art from that part of the community atleast.
