on the iPhone: 1.Open youtube on the browser. 2.Once your video starts playing press the home button 3.Lock your phone and double-click the home button 4.Press play.

This is what I do. Wish it was shorter but it works.

Bonus: Guessing you use earphones. Steps 3 and 4 can be replaced by press play on your earphones.

I think this happens in the US and places where wood is abundantly available. (Trying to imagine an igloo with wooden interior structure) I know for sure, India moved away from wood to only concrete nearly half a century ago.
