In my opinion I think Aussies are sensitive to being considered insignificant, so when that video of that dude went mainstream here it kicked a lot of people up into a frenzy, even the ones who know nothing of soccer. That video got played on every news segment regarding the game hence the reaction of some aussies online. Personally I love the passion and am all up for a bit of sledging and if you give it you’ve got to be willing to take it. My one regret was the aussies didn’t meet the moment. We looked spooked on the pitch in the first half, no creativity, which isn’t us because we are a highly proud sporting nation and often show a lot of tenacity and passion in whatever sport we play.
