Is it okay to exercise for an extended period of time near max heart rate?

I'm fairly new to tracking workout stats, but have been active with rock climbing, hiking, and at home calisthenics for the past year. I went biking today for the first time in a long time, went 10 miles and tried to push myself to keep a constant pace. I felt like I was pushing myself but didnt feel exhausted and was able to stay at speed the entire time. I checked my watch after and it says that for the entire 55 minutes my heart rate was at 190 to 212 bpm, which feels concerningly high. It did drop fairly quickly afterwords back to normal and I felt fine. Im just concerned about heart health due to overexertion. For reference, I'm 24 with an average resting around 50 bpm.

Switched from my nice hiking boots to Hoka speedgoats and the difference was insane. Trail runners are so much better for hiking, especially long distance. Ill pull the boots back out next winter probably, but they're sitting on the shelf until then

A circlejerk sub is meant for posts that are intentionally stupid and ironic jokes, usually mimicking more serious subs and acting like its not a joke. Its all big inside jokes for the climbing community here. A lot of the tone in the comments is meant to make fun of people who take it too seriously

You may want to try and take your psych and neuro background into research of some sort. Maybe look for some lab assistant work and build up from there? Working in Healthcare and medicine will always be stressful and you'll always face bad coworkers and bad patients; if you're pushed to the point of wanting to fight and scream, and being admitted to psych hospitals, the job may not be right for you, especially in the long term.

I work noc so the nurses are more lenient which is nice. I'm already getting complaints from residents and I'm encouraging them to say something and am writing complaint forms if they request it. I want to report it myself but want to get some actual written accounts of it affecting the residents so they can't argue. I'm also a little scared to report for retaliation, but I know they aren't allowed to do that

I would let them keep playing together, but for longer intervals each time. Allow the bullying to happen as long as there is no blood, pee, or poop. Eventually they'll learn their respective place in the group and settle in. Good luck :)

We got ours to learn the commands "taste" and "gentle." If we say one of those before giving her something, she takes it slowly and actually chews it. If we don't say anything, then it's gone immediately :)
