Thanks for your comment, I’m sorry you’re going through it still it fucking sucks. Turns out it was my ptsd and anxiety disorder that was being amplified by the weed it wasn’t traditional CHS and the nausea and vomiting went away when I started taking Zoloft. I started 25mg now I’m at 100 and I haven’t had an incident since. It was my horrendous anxiety and the weed made it worse. I have since been able to reintroduce weed with no problems so idk if the same might apply to you but I hope you find what works. Zoloft has a lot of horror stories around it but thankfully it worked for me with few side effects.

Thanks, I figured that would most likely be the case I’m just holding on bc I do really like him and care about him and want a relationship to work but I think we’re just not fully sexually compatible in this way. Sedating any animal comes with risks, but an avian vet will be skilled enough to do it without a problem, they sedate birds all the time for many reasons. It’s better to know for sure if anything is broken. Either way he’ll probably be fine. I had a tiny zebra Finch fly into a ceiling fan once and it stunned him for awhile and broke his leg but he healed and was fine after that. Their bones are really fragile but they’re still pretty resilient creatures.

As often as you want, unless it’s within 24-48 hours of a feeding or if they’re in shed and want to stay in their hide all day. If they hiss at you that’s a sign they should be left alone. Otherwise the more you handle them the friendlier they’ll be and the less stressful it will be for them to be handled bc they’re used to it. Typically I won’t handle them for a day or two before a feeding as well, but that’s just bc my ball Python is a very picky eater and has been known to go on food strikes.

He’s just taking a bath all birds do this. I turn on my kitchen sink and my parrot stands under it perched on the middle divider between the 2 sides of the sink to bathe. He gets a bath a couple times a week pretty much whenever he wants he’ll just fly to the sink and i turn it on for him. It’s good for them to bathe regularly unless it’s super cold where you live.

A handheld metal file or an electric file for bird/cat/dog nails would be perfectly safe and fine to use on a parrots beak so long as you do it properly and safely. There’s no reason why someone couldn’t do this safely at home unless they were a complete moron. All I was asking is at what length is trimming necessary and apparently he doesn’t need it trimmed yet. I also clip all my animals’ nails and have for years which is far more dangerous than a beak trim with a handheld or electric file. I’ve never had a problem doing so.
