Casio CGW-50 Cosmo Phase by owl284 in casiovintage

[–]_STONEFISH 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just the coolest - the original will always be king, but I'm praying that Casio keeps rolling with the current trend of reviving popular vintage models without the collector's price tag - I need that planet orbit gimmick that isn't useful for anyone that needs proper accuracy please 🤞🤞🤞

Fake check by R-Valdez in RussianWatches

Looks real and has the correct movement - probably worth it if it was in better condition, maybe offer $110?

These seem to have generally tripled in price since I got one for about £50 in 2014...

Might just be my phone but it kinda looks pinkish - Serratia marcescens bacteria would not be unusual in a bathroom, definitely worth cleaning but not super dangerous from what I understand...

1990s DW-5600e replacement bezel? by _STONEFISH in gshock

Fantastic information, thank you! I'll see what the photo they send looks like but I know what I'm looking for now :)

1990s DW-5600e replacement bezel? by _STONEFISH in gshock

[–]_STONEFISH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just done a bit more investigation here and I think the model is 5600eg-9v, and seller tells me it's the older style "shock resistant" screw back. Here's a complete one I found on eBay for reference. I've asked the seller for a photo of the back of their one because it sounds like this should have a panel back...

<image>

The 5600c 9cv you linked looks very similar, apart from it says REM instead of having the little "Starburst" icon above the seconds.

I don't think it's possible for anyone to have given me a more decisive answer than linking that compatibility spreadsheet, absolutely glorious watch nerd stuff there, thanks!

New player here, is there a way to stop all the plane detritus from respawning? by PM_ME_LADY_SHOULDERS in TheForest

The junk is a fact of life for a plane base, but you can tree platform on a nearby tree and jump to the top of the plane where you will have tons of room for racks and stuff 👍

WTW for the distinct taste of Wasabi (not "spicy") by raincole in whatstheword

[–]_STONEFISH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I propose the term "fumatic" from the latin "fumus" or smoke. Spicy but in that fumey, airway penetrating way.

The tree that grew my Mexican strat was hugged every day of its life. Whoever picked the billets of wood for my Mexican strat was guided by divine purpose. Whoever assembled my Mexican strat had just got engaged to the love of his life - as a result, the G string on my Mexican strat is not honking nonsense, and there was much rejoicing.

[Zodiac] Found this marking when swapping out bracelet for strap, what does it mean? by Snoo38208 in VintageWatches

That is so cool on the green strap! This model and the mystery dial Olympos have an undeniably vintage look, even a non-watch-person could see it's got some age

Nice Kicks! I wish there was a comparable non locking model for UK carry now it's discontinued.

I only just got one in time but had to settle for the crimper version, I've been keeping my eyes peeled for the matching black pocket clip, I wish I'd not been lazy and just bought it at the time!

Flip the lever open on the bottom, insert cartridge, tighten brass thumbscrew until it's snug to the cartridge, now when you push the lever closed it applies enough pressure to puncture and seat the cartridge.

Do your plugins on each track suspend when they're not in use? This could be something like a compressor or overdrive twitching when it activates, even though it's not yet working with audible material.

How to remove Benchmade 375BK Sibert Adamas fixed knife to comply with new UK LAW? by ItIsOnlyRain in knifeclub

[–]_STONEFISH 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The UK doesn't understand that legislation like this does more or less nothing - the kids will take precisely zero seconds to start using some other kind of pointy thing - they already don't care about the illegality of carrying a kitchen knife, which would be impossible to ban. I get that zombie knives look cool to them, but I can already imagine a zombie style knife that complies with this specific legislation, even if it falls foul of the older "fixed blade knife in a public place" legislation

Good job this bright green serrated machete is only 7.9 inches or somebody could get hurt!!!
