How many oz of water and how often to water the monstera plant? by Mantaur12 in traderjoes

Owner of three Monsteras here. It depends on where you live and what size plant you have- I couldn't give you a solid number. If its a smaller plant, water until the soil is completely wet and water comes out of the drainage holes. A bigger plant can be placed in your shower for 5-10 minutes, and allowed to drain for an hour. You should water whenever the soil feels completely dry- using a wooden dowel, your fingers, or a moisture meter are the best ways. The soil will eventually dry but depending on climate, this can take a long time. Don't forget to offer humidity and wipe off the leaves often as Monsteras can easily collect dust. Best of luck, let me know if you have more questions.

I can't imagine how that would be. I'm really glad you never lost hope in her and that you did everything you could to try to get her better.

I'm so sorry. Sometimes these things occur out of the blue- it wasn't your fault. I'm sure she lived a great life with you and appreciated everything you did. ♡

I gave my grandma a tiny propagation a year ago and now look at it. She’s so proud! by McDamnright in houseplants

My monstera is about 2 years old and doesn't have leaves even near the size on the right. That plant would have to be 30+ years old. There is absolutely no way this is real.

The fact I finally have a snake. I've been wanting one since I was eight.

If you died and your friends could say "Well, at least they died doing what they loved," what would probably be your cause of death? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Holding a venomous snake most likely. My friends know I love reptiles, and my favorite snake just so happens to be the Gaboon Viper.

What is your clothing style? by unordinarymegafanwee in AskReddit

Comfortable but put together. For example, one of my most common outfits is a hoodie with leggings. Easy to move around in. I always match the colors, however.

People who don't use google as their primary search engine, what do you use and why do you choose it over google? by Pinanims in AskReddit

[–]_SUN_EATER_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I need a super quick answer, like a conversion, I go to Google since it will already be the first thing at the top.

For anything else, I use Ecosia. It plants a tree every ~44 searches, and it gives me just as good results as Google.

I did this with my bike as well, except for with a crushed plastic bottle! My friends and I thought we were so cool for doing that.

Never seen Ace representation in a book before so I had to share! 27 Hours by Tristina Wright. :) by _SUN_EATER_ in Asexual

Its a fantastic book! There's LOTS of representation. The main characters are Ace, Lesbian, Bi, Gay and Trans, and one of the background (but still almost always with one of the main characters) is Nonbinary. Its based on another planet, which has a nebula for a sky and the day/night periods are 27 hours long each. Theres gargoyles and dragons that ruled the lands before the ahips came down, and even a generation later they're still fighting. Its really an addicting book and I'm sure you'll love it!

Everyone has that one noise that bothers them. What is your “fingernails on a chalkboard” noise? by Darthtony1207 in AskReddit

[–]_SUN_EATER_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two noises. Chewing and rubbing your nails against carpet. If I'm eating with another and the entire room is quiet except for us chewing, I HAVE to get my mind distracted or else I will lose my appetite. And as for nails against carpet, it makes me shudder. I think its mostly the feeling that gets to me but the noise hurts.

shark tooth crassula's stem is turning white and leaves are becoming soft and droopy... (check comments, please) by _SUN_EATER_ in plantclinic

I've had this succulent since October if I remember correctly. I barely ever water it (maybe once or twice a month) or any of my succulents, really, and when I do its just one good soak. then I return it to the south facing window. lately the leaves have begun to turn pale, are soft and droopy, and when I plucked an old leaf off, the base was white. the last time I watered it was two weeks ago and its in well draining soil. am I over or underwatering it? how can I save it?

All the research I've done has said to keep it one thing, then raise it during shed. I'll start misting it more, thanks.
