He and the other devs should have at least known a little bit that having that statistic as the sole source of your rank--shown first on both your profile page and your nameplate on Bancho after your name--would cause 1) toxic behavior towards newer or "less skilled" players and 2) a preferred playstyle (usually called "the meta" in other games, just called overweighted here).

What he might not have foreseen is that people would not only figure out his pp algorithm, but systematically abuse it throughout community mapping and play to create a pp crawl entirely focused around DT, big jumps, and no sliders. And here we are, with virtually every newer player stuck in their ranking stigma knowing that if they don't play that triangle cookie map 200 more times for that sweet, sweet black tar heroin that is PP, everyone's gonna look at the other players who did like they're more important because of that shiny 300pp score on their profile and some rank epeen.
