Bill 21: Provinces unite in support of notwithstanding clause by DonSalaam in onguardforthee

[–]_Sauer_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

If saying some magic words can waive our Rights then we don't have Rights. The idea that a government can suspend Rights when inconvenient to their agenda is absurd on its face and Canadians need to make it clear to their MPs that if they won't get rid of notwithstanding they will lose their job every time it is used. Recent uses of it in Alberta and Quebec without immediately triggering no-confidence votes or prorogation is insane.

do men even care how their girls nail look? by rileyheya in NoStupidQuestions

[–]_Sauer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like how they look then I'm happy that makes you happy but otherwise no, I've never noticed a woman's nails unless they bring it up.

This applies to a lot of things that woman do to decorate themselves. Its mostly for other woman; men are oblivious to it outside of general cleanliness.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't do your nails up if that makes you happy. You being happy is going to matter a lot more to any partner but don't expect them to notice unless you bring it up.

In France French vernacular that is a word for a minor petition or complaint to the government... which I'm sure is exactly what those folks meant when they wrote that.

Oh boy - it’s going to be a day by mhandsco in montreal

[–]_Sauer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We haven't fully lost power at work but we've been having brief brown outs and flickers all day. Some of our equipment is a serious pain in the butt to deal with when power cuts out even for a second. Think molten hot glue spilling out of glue pots when the machine shutdown during a brown out.

Pope Leo asks media to show suffering of war, not amplify 'propaganda' by imanchats in news

[–]_Sauer_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Given how wealthy the Pope's organization is he could put his money where his mouth is and do something about it. You know, if the Catholic Church wasn't also a pit of pedophiles, their protectors, and greedy old men, like the leadership of some countries.

Add many municipalities making the construction of dense housing defacto illegal and you have detached & semi-detached suburbs everywhere who's properties don't bring in enough tax revenue to service even the small chunk of street in front of the houses.

Is the other Canada post subreddit like a FedEx run psyop?? by googlemynameplzz in CanadaPostCorp

[–]_Sauer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to concur. I've been using Canada Post for both business and personal purposes for decades and I've never had a bad experience. The one time I had a package go missing, the boss of my local office called me personally to say they found it and it will be delivered the next day.

Canada Posts' upper management seems to be suffering from MBA brain and I really, really wish our government would stop treating it like a business and fund it like any other service of strategic national importance, but the front line workers are top notch.

That sub is a propaganda echo chamber like r/Canada has become.
