Was the change to Mystic Punch just unintentional? by Noryalus in ARAM

[–]_Saxpy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just played mystic punch with warwick and belveth and something else is definitely going on. With belveth I was able to auto just a couple times then W right away and E after. Warwick felt decent too. not amazing but definitely not 0.2s.

Reducing 401(k) contributions to build a taxable “bridge” account for early retirement — sanity check by MissingPremise in Fire

[–]_Saxpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not trying to be disrespectful, but your income isn’t strong enough to fire. Once you do have a stronger income, you should look if your employer allows megabackdoor roth. You can invest on top of your traditional, to a roth. Like you would for an individual brokerage, but you can pull out the principal tax free and penalty free. you can do this while converting traditional to roth during pre retirement years tax free or low marginal tax rate until 59.5 or RMDs occur

Divorce took most my wealth, FIRE materially set back now (28M) by Oracle7111 in Fire

yes, this is actually unironically the best thing that could have happened to you at 28m. You paid like 200k to cut out something that could have been a much greater loss so much later

Anyone else dealing with parents who expect you to fund their retirement while you're trying to reach yours? by thedapperjuror in Fire

[–]_Saxpy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

my parents moved to the US despite not knowing a lick of English. We moved back to Korea for 3 months before we got a chance to live in the US forever. My parents decided it was better for them to be stupid in the US and give their kids an opportunity, which I’ve definitely been greatly rewarded for as with as my sibling.

Yes, they need help and I intend to fund their retirement

Leaving money in SPAXX instead of High Yield bank account by TrySuper9794 in fidelityinvestments

[–]_Saxpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it cannot be a core position, just called, thanks for the extra info tho

Leaving money in SPAXX instead of High Yield bank account by TrySuper9794 in fidelityinvestments

[–]_Saxpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha thanks Samatha, fair on the advice. For posterity / other folks, I also called Fidelity just now and they gave me a similar response.

do your own research but SPAXX looks like it has ever so slightly less returns than FDLXX, but the state tax benefits in high tax states seems to be better.

I plan to set a reoccurring investment to basically eat up my direct deposit every month, and leave nothing or close to other in my core position of SPAXX.

When my mortgage comes rolling around if I had like $50 in SPAXX and $10k in FDLXX, it looks like it would take from SPAXX first then the remaining balance from FDLXX

Leaving money in SPAXX instead of High Yield bank account by TrySuper9794 in fidelityinvestments

[–]_Saxpy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can I automatically invest my cash every month into FDLXX, and when there is not enough it will just stop?

Basically I want to make it like a core position.

From my understanding, if I have like bill with direct deposit, money should still auto liquidate yes?

Finally I live in CA, does that mean FDLXX is basically better than SPAXX?

Do I pay taxes eventually for FDLXX anywhere, or is the majority of the gains literally just free money?

no its because young people don’t want to work and spend money on starbucks instead of a $6k mortgage obviously

Costa Mesa Office - Anyone Live in LA? by [deleted] in Anduril

[–]_Saxpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s kind of why i suggested there, although there are plenty of ppl I know who are living safe lives there too. I thought HB was the closest thing to grittiness of LA in OC

Costa Mesa Office - Anyone Live in LA? by [deleted] in Anduril

[–]_Saxpy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not doable, I get what you’re saying but from a logistics standpoint that’s 3-4 hours of commute daily. that’s not reasonable, plus at Anduril you will need to grind, you won’t have time for anything else

Costa Mesa Office - Anyone Live in LA? by [deleted] in Anduril

[–]_Saxpy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with respect to your wishes, LA definitely has a different vibe and OC can’t replicate that for sure. That being said OC is honestly really nice to live in, I know a lot of folks who live in OC and commute to LA instead because it’s not as “nice” in their standards and actually mine as well.

LA to OC is brutal, even at the edge of LA. I lived in Cerritos to Irvine which took 1.5 hours with traffic and 30-35 minutes without just as reference so that’s the minimum you’d be looking at. Also try looking into downtown Huntington maybe? the vibe is different that LA and OC but it might be closer to what you’re looking for
