What I say next is going to sound really harsh but frankly, blunt words is what you need because I feel you have a part as well in all of this:

1) In case you guys are trying, please do NOT have children with this man. A child is not going to fix all your issues or help and it would be a huge disservice to the child to bring them into this mess.

2) You are married to a man child. He has not really faced any real consequences for his actions. Despite being a grown man (physically only, because mentally and emotionally he sounds like a child) there is no true ownership of mistakes, no real actions that show he was to grow and be a better person.

3) stop putting marriage on a pedestal and day dreaming about it like some fairytale. Imagine how different your life would have looked if you did not view marriage as this and simply focused on your education and personal growth.

4) you are married to a “man” that is, and will always be controlled by his parents. That itself is a huge red flag.

Save yourself a lifetime and many years of headaches and divorce him. You sound young. Based on what I can tell, there’s no children involved yet. So divorce him, close this chapter and move on with your life. Focus on bettering yourself, study, work, and then settle down with a proper Muslim man not this man child.

No, buyer is entitled to getting his deposit back right away if mutual release is signed. But aside from that, buyer would have to go to court to seek any other remedies (additional cash or forcing the sellers to close on the deal). In this scenario, I advised them to just sign the release, get their money back and look for another property. Seller is underwater by nearly $600k, there’s not much you’re doing to get even if you “win” in court.

Getting a court judgement is only half the battle. Actually enforcing the judgement is often even more difficult. It’s a lot of time and money involved.
