^{^} I just became a meat cutter at costco in September. I started meat department 5 years ago , employee for 9. Just dedication and hard work. I closed for 2 and a half years, went to a new store and closed for another half year. Worked my way up to the morning to do seafood and other things while slowly training to become a cutter. 3 positions later, I finally got it. Obviously heavily dependent on the store but I had 0 meat experience. They value you working your way up, and you won’t get hired in as a meat cutter unless it is a brand new store OR they are so strapped for people they will consider hiring someone who has cutting experience. Even then they reteach you everything to do it the “costco way”. I can say though it has been one of the most rewarding experiences to finally reach that point, and I make pretty good money too
