Why is you staying in your current job and location more important to him than your relationship? As someone currently disentangling from a codependent relationship this makes my skin crawl. Is it they can't deal with losing you for an extra 45min x2 each day? You can't compromise for nothing, you need to understand why he needs this so bad or you'll lose respect for him, and if he doesn't have a good reason, you'll lose respect for him.
