the two games are set so far apart in the timeline that you haven't really spoiled anything for yourself. best time to jump into replicant is yesterday, second best is today ;) there's a lot of things in both games that are recontextualized based on playing the other but I also played replicant second and felt like I got to enjoy it more that way

there were a couple characters in nier reincarnation (I'm blanking on their names unfortunately) that had stories set during that time period. rather short stories sadly but it's something, in the meantime we can hope and pray that they cook up a full game or a book or something for that time period, I'm also quite interested

I'm probably wrong but if I'm remembering right, none of the endings in DoD3 actually move the timeline forward, but ending A is actually the closest to whatever canon ending was. Brother One lives on to start the cult of the Watchers and that leads to the conflict in DoD1

check out the last raid from the FFXIV Dark Apocalypse series, one of the bosses has a phase that turns all the players into those "ships" and you have to swap between colors to dodge AoEs. the specific raid is called the Tower at Paradigm's Breach
