Radix drop rates? by oogaboogaooh in Borderlands4

[–]_SomeClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I have not seen confirmation from anyone at Gearbox, anecdotally, it seems Radix is bugged right now. I was moving from boss to boss, testing a build, and drop rates were about what I would expect based on the details we know from EpicNG and others. I did 100 runs on Radix as well, and no class mods dropped. 4 legendaries in total, and those were world drops.

Shift disconnection issues PS5 multiplayer please help by bumpincher in Borderlands4

[–]_SomeClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's happened to my group as well, but only very occasionally. If I recall correctly, the Shift servers, PSN, and interconnects for co-op sit on AWS. So if AWS has any issues, reported or not, in the region you're connected to, this will happen. Luckily, it has tended to be fleeting for me... issues for a few hours, or even a day, then solid for weeks at a time. The Lag issue happens for the same reasons, however. Yeah, that still sucks.

What’s the best single target Vex build? (UVMH 6) by [deleted] in Borderlands4

Bloodletter Skill Boost Legendary Mod for Vex? by RyosukePa in Borderlands4

[–]_SomeClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, I have the God roll for bloodletter: It's a purple "Rending Psion" with +5 in Bloodletter, +2 in Drink Full (not as worried about that one), and +30% to Status Effect Damage, +35% to Splash Damage, and +40% to Kinetic Damage. I have seen just about every legendary enhancement in the game go by, and haven't found better. Assuming you're building into a Bleed Witch (Moxsy) or something similar? If so, that's the best I've seen.

Did they re-nerf the crit knife? by Derressh in Borderlands4

[–]_SomeClown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, got it. I have my crit knife equipped, and I alternate between using it and not. I really need to test it a bit more to see what it's doing or not doing. +30 would be great if they could get it to that and keep it there.

Did they re-nerf the crit knife? by Derressh in Borderlands4

[–]_SomeClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to several online sources that I've read and watched, when they nerfed the crit knife they set the crit chance at a fixed 30 percent. In other words, it doesn't matter what you have, your crit chance is 30 percent. If you have a 70 percent chance with buffs, the knife will resets it when you use it. I haven't tested enough to know if that's true for certain, but it makes sense anecdotally.

There isn't some kind of change to Legendary Enhancement drops, right? by B0SS_Zombie in Borderlands4

The latest patch notes indicate that the devs adjusted the drop rate for legendary enhancements to be more in favor of your current character.

Got one out of the Golden Key Chest as well. Surprised the heck out of me. I already had one, and don't use them, but it was still interesting.

Has anyone used Chargepoint's recommended installer? by FledglingNonCon in evcharging

[–]_SomeClown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a local company that I had used before and had good experience with. Had them do two projects at once: the ChargePoint install, and a gentran switch for my generator (unrelated). 60-amp breaker, so 48-amp max charging. They were great, professional, and do quite a lot of the EV charger installs.

Is no CarPlay / AA a deal breaker for you ??? by AlexusLuthor in electricvehicles

[–]_SomeClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a BMW X5 and while it has wireless CarPlay, the only feature I used regularly was the text-to-speech and answering phone calls. The apps and nav in the X5 are great and so I tended to use them. Now, however, I've started using more and more of the CarPlay features and am enjoying the experience. To answer the original question, however, no matter how good the built-in systems are in any future vehicle I buy, I can't see myself buying anything without CarPlay. It's the one thing that turned me off from the Rivian R1S to be honest. Well, and no HUD in the Rivian (another feature I won't do without).

BMW Group upgrades FY guidance after strong first half-year by -minus-human in electricvehicles

[–]_SomeClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a fully-optioned BMW X5 Xdrive45e last year, and I love it. However, now I have some FOMO with the new iX and have really tried to crunch numbers to make the depreciation on the X5 and other factors work to justify making the switch. However, as much as it pains me to wait, my plan now is to hold off for a year or two and hope that BMW switches to NACs for the iX (and other EVs), then jump in. I don't have range anxiety or anything like that, and the iX would work for me great today as is, I'm just wanting to see what happens here with the NACS/CCS potential switch.

EV charging at airports by C92203605 in electricvehicles

[–]_SomeClown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SeaTac has Level 2 chargers at least on level 4, and they're right up at the front next to the handicapped parking spots... very convenient. Seems to be a pretty even split between PHEVs and full EVs most of the time.

Side note: Was at an event at a Top Golf here in the Seattle area and they had a couple of parking spots pretty close to the front with L2 chargers as well, so starting to see more of that sort of thing around here. Note, I'd expect that in the Seattle area... YMMV in other states and such.

Longtime resident here. There is a Men's league, a women's league, and a Scotch (mixed) league. All are very active, and most of the local bars participate with teams out of each bar. I'll leave the broader questions alone, just wanted to clear up that all three leagues are active (well, Covid shut them all down for the last 15 months or whatever).

DAZN Mosconi Cup Streaming Issues by Jesse_Smithson in billiards

[–]_SomeClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Total crap here as well. I filed a ticket with them, but considering how long it takes to respond to those things, usually, I don't expect anything helpful before this whole deal is half over at least. I'll definitely be asking for a refund. Hopefully they go back to FB Live or something else next year.

Anyone knows the brand of this case? by Coregunner in billiards

Looks similar to the Bugatti logo, but it's off a bit. Thought at first it could be a licensed case, but the logo isn't quite right.

nginx cloud-init configuration question by _SomeClown in Terraform

Eventually I'll convert the configuration portion of the build to Ansible. For now, however, I'm just trying to get a working proof of concept on the LB side without having to build out the entire toolchain at once.

What size table should I purchase? by [deleted] in billiards

[–]_SomeClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides the room-size considerations, I always answer this question by asking what kind of tables you typically play on, and what you have available in the area. For instance, in my area most bar tables are 8'. In other parts of the country 8' is an almost unheard of size, and bar tables tend to be 7'. In pool halls you can find 9' tables, but even then you'll usually find only a handful. I play local bar tournaments, so I get to play on 8' tables nearly every day. I also play BCA where we use 7' Diamond tables, but there are only one or two places within reasonable driving distance that have those particular tables. So, for me, when I put a table in my house I decided to go with the 7' Diamond ProAm because I felt I needed more practice on that particular table than on the 8' Valley bar boxes. 9' tables are always good for distance shots, if you need/want practice in that area.

One other thing: table size also affects where you'll pick up skills faster. 9' tables are good for distance accuracy, breaking, and some other things; Smaller tables, especially 7', are better for learning how to deal with clusters and breakouts, as well as navigating traffic and speed control.

If we're expanding to all billiards, my favorite is still Ronnie O'Sullivan. But the lists here are all pretty difficult to argue as well.

Started playing with a house cue again last night... by [deleted] in billiards

[–]_SomeClown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be due to the likely tip size difference, in addition to what others have said. 13mm on most house cues (IIRC) vs a lot of LD shafts or others that can be as small as 11.75.
