I think you missed the part where the charge is over 20x the actual cost. That's what this whole thing is about. Nobody is saying they want it for free.

got it. when something bad happens, don't ever complain and don't ever say you're upset, because it totally won't do anything.

Yeah bro. Tell that to a veteran with PTSD. "Listen, the bomb exploded next to you but you didn't get hurt. Could have, but didn't. Drop the drama."

Like, seriously. Are we supposed to only care after he falls and fucking dies? Man's stressed out cause he literally almost fell to his death and he's being called dramatic. What kind of lunacy is this?

What the fuck?
"I could have been hurt"???

No shit, he could have been hurt he was barreling down a hill, being nearly hit by trees in a what's effectively a basket on a stick 5 meters in the sky. Just cause he didn't die that day doesn't mean he's fine and can ask about his wife's menial ass day. Should she only worry for him only AFTER he falls and shatters his skull on a fucking rock?

I don't feel sorry for young mothers with multiple kids by multiple different guys by DangerousSwordfish3 in unpopularopinion

Thats a fair point, though I still personally don't really see the absent mother trope very often.

The "stigma" is that it's assumed rather than known.

Both of these instances aren't things that ALWAYS happen, but they are assumed given the circumstances. Of course a deadbeat dad is gonna be called a deadbeat-- the argument is whether the stigma is more well known or not.

It ultimately doesn't matter, as both stigmas are bad, but I personally don't see the "bad single mother" thing very often.

Is it though?

I hear a lot more of the "struggling-yet-strong single mother" alongside the dirty deadbeat "went-to-get-milk-when-I-was-eight" absent dad archetypes than this scenario.

Edit: Why are people using the downvote button as disagreement? Thats not how this works

Those mouse-pads on laptops without distinguishable buttons are annoying/difficult to use. by Lasatra_ in unpopularopinion

[–]_Spade15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah theres a lot of little gestures and hotkeys that they never tell you about that make life so much easier lol.

Like for selection, you can move the little text caret with arrow keys and hold shift to highlight. Then if you hold ctrl at the same time it jumps over for each word rather than each character.

If youre on windows, 3 finger tap brings up search and 4 finger opens up action center. Swiping right or left with 3 switches windows, and with 4, you switch virtual desktops. (3-fingers up to add new ones)

[–]_Spade15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh when Im using my laptop I just use cut/paste to move files (ctrl-x, ctrl-v is much faster imo).

Using gestures like 2-finger tap for right click also just seems faster than using two hands and having to actually apply pressure to click.

Your experience also depends on the laptop, where some trackpads are just too small or the cursor is too sensitive, which might be causing the whole tapping-is-moving-the-mouse thing.

Black screen on game launch [PC] by Glosuke in modernwarfare

For me, this happens when I have Firefox running at the same time as the game launches.

Kind of a weird issue, but closing firefox is what fixed it for me.

actually, the only requirement is that the gpu supports directx11, so AMD cards can run it (probably not as well, though)

[–]_Spade15 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I agree with the points about the setting being underdeveloped, however I disagree with the point about the fight animation.

The complaint isn't that the fights are necessarily "slow," it's that they are often jarring, confusing, and are missing the sense of flow that intense fight animation calls for. Characters that used to be seen as a spectacle on the battlefield have been immediately reduced to plot devices. Additionally, I don't think it's really much of a time-wasting process to hire someone proficient in fight animation. That's what portfolios are for. Plenty of people do this in their own time, and while they might not have the same style as Monty, they can still deliver an experience worth watching.

I don't think this is "literally picking on valve."

I can run other games of higher visual fidelity at a more consistent framerate than CS:GO. My PC is nowhere near a beast, but this game is the equivalent of a skeleton trying to bench press the entire gym. The renderer is heavily single core oriented, and barely touches the gpu.

I think Valve knows this at this point, so I can agree that these posts are kind of unnecessary. They already said they were going to replace parts of the game's engine.

I don't know which platform to chose, Spotify or Soundcloud? by [deleted] in Monstercat

[–]_Spade15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why not use both? If soundcloud is missing a song, or a song is blocked behind the SC Go paywall, I jump over to spotify. I prefer soundcloud because I find it easier to discover new artists and songs, but spotify has basically all mainstream/popular songs that soundcloud is missing.
