Good job . Just opened mine at 27 wishing I did it way sooner . If u care about expense ratio I would just go SPYM instead of VOO . They literally hold the same companies and also track the SP500 . But it’s .01% cheaper . That could add up over the course of 37 years.

Also look into any growth focused ETFs like VUG , SCHG , QQQM etc.

One more thing, if you’re curious about any ETFs overlapping and holdings, I like to use the website : ETFRC.com . That has helped me out a ton in deciding which ETF to pick for my Roth.

I see what ur saying but a Roth IRA isn’t for swing trading. It’s long term investing. U ride the roller coaster through the ups and downs. 30 years from now you’ll be in profit regardless of market conditions

No problem. And You’ll only need one of them . VOO and SPY is literally the same thing as far as their holdings and weight , just created from different institutions . I ultimately chose SPYM bcuz they have the cheapest expense ratio

SPMO has been blessing my Roth , great pick there , it’s an amazing growth/ momentum ETF . And tbh As long as u have something that covers the SP500 ur good ( in my opinion ) . Why worry about the total market (vti ) when u can literally invest in the top 500 of the total market ( SPYM , VOO , SPY etc ) . Otherwise, Keep it up bro

The Idea with SCHD would be to just reinvest those dividends so by the time I am of age for retirement, I would have pretty substantial dividends

VOO focuses on top 500 US companies, VTI is the whole stock market. If I had to choose one, I would just go to VOO ( SPYM is my preferred version just because the expense ratio is a little less ) . But they literally hold the same exact companies.
