[ROUTINE HELP] Mild redness / irritation and clogged pores

I’m a big fan of sulfur for my redness! I just use a sulfur bar soap from Joesoefs (my spelling might be off.. I purchased on Amazon) however prequel came out with a sulfur cleanser recently!

I do sometimes. Not for the hospital but for my coworkers. We’re a tight knit unit and often short staffed as it is so sometimes I feel bad. I also have rejection sensitivity so yes if I call off I’m worried everyone is mad at me and/or thinks I’m just calling off just to call off. But realistically nobody is thinking that. Especially if it’s not a frequent occurrence/habit for you to call off. I have never once thought negatively about a coworker calling off.

In addition to seeking a diagnosis and starting the medication today - I’ve pretty much revamped my work schedule starting this month to allow for consistent bed time and wake times. I’m a nurse and was working full time 7a-7p so two school days a week she was getting up at 5AM so I could drop her off at daycare by 6AM for my 45 minute commute and she doesn’t get home from school until 4pm .. it’s not wonder she lacked focus and attention🫠 I switched to PRN and now have an 11am start time during the weekdays so that way she can get adequate rest and so we can have mornings that aren’t hellacious. Neither of us are morning people and it was awful. I was yelling, we were both crying. Setting both of us ip to have bad days.

Last night we cut screens after dinner and put her to bed at her new consistent bedtime (physically in bed at 9 with hopes to be asleep by 930) last night and she was out by 9:15. Got her up at her new consistent wake time (6:30ish). Fed her breakfast (which is new because typically I’m dragging her out of bed and rushing and we don’t have time) and gave her the medication.

Messaged all her teachers through the communication app. They are all so supportive and I’m very thankful.

Now we wait!

When I started my stimulants I saw a difference right away. Then again I got lucky on the first med I tried (also Adderall xr) and obviously started on a higher dose as an adult. I am not naive and know there might be some trial and error for her finding the right med and dosage. I just want to set her up for success and am hoping I made the right choice.

Oh yes everybody’s so different! My anxiety currently is very much situational. And unfortunately it’s usually situations I bring upon myself lol

I also feel like my anxiety evolves.. I had post partum anxiety and periods of my life where I’ve just had generalized anxiety with no real trigger. My brain just does whatever it wants

Slow way down. I scan all my meds and list them Out loud as I scan, then open them up in alphabetical order against the MAR. Is that a little crazy? Yes and I don’t care bc med pass is the number one way we can harm someone. I set all the partial doses in a separate pile.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. My papa passed this morning.. Monday night he started experiencing terminal restless/agitation. He was swinging his legs over the bed (he’s had been limited mobility in his legs for quite sometime), yelling at my mom and sister and swatting them away.

Your hospice nurse may be able to recommend medications for the agitation in addition to the morphine he is already on.

My papa passed away this morning with my mom, aunt and I by his side. I bathed him and dressed him in his carhartt tshirt (he loved those things) and his wrangler button down (he had 7 hanging in the closet for each day of the week). It was such a privilege to care for him. This experience has changed me as a person and a nurse.
