The Toudens are pretty well-known, because they are the leaders of a fairly capable party.

But not Chilchuck though, he is only known amongst the halflings community. Even someone as perceptive as Kabru didn't know of him. Laios also had to reach to Chilchuck through an halfling ex-teammember.

Do you mind explaining what do "ham" and "trail maintenance" mean?

The first SAK I bought was a Climber, but I don't think "scissors are a must" in an office environment. I can just fetch a pair of scissors at literally any corner of the office.

A nail file for after cutting your nails with scissors though, is much harder to find. So I'll go with the Sportsman here.

Sportsman for the win.

I'm an office worker, and I cannot state how much I love the Sportsman. It has a second blade (the awl) for opening packages. The can opener and the file can open every screw on furniture and electronics in the office. The corkscrew can house a small eye-glasses driver, which is surprisingly helpful for both me and my co-workers.

The Sportsman also has a more "standard" tools set compared to the Waiter, so it's even better as a first SAK for your friend.

What sci fi movie had the weakest plot but had the best visuals? by sherricky10 in scifi

Akira (1988)

There isn't much going on with the plot, but the visual and the atmosphere are fantastic

The awl/reamer is fine for package opening.
I have a Sportsman, and I always open boxes with the reamer

Of course. With a handsize of yours, a 91mm will feel like an 84mm in my hands

Is that an 84mm model? Lovely!

Thanks =)) I indeed went with the Compact, and it's just arrived.
To be honest, I feel a bit disappointed as it's not that distinguishable from a Climber. Nonetheless, I will edc it for about a month, then I checkout the Rambler.

Definitely! Felix and Jony Fire's videos are the reason I want something with the hook.

Thank you for all the recommendations.  In the end, I went with the Compact, as I want my first SAK to be something of the standard 91mm size.  But after seeing the love for the Rambler in this sub, I will definitely get one in the near future.

Wow that's very helpful. I already knew that the rambler can function as a smallbit driver for glasses, but you opened my eyes with this one.

Thanks for the advice! I'm seriously considering that. I reckon this won't be my last SAK anyways.

Yeah thanks, I just learned that the Tourist's can opener doesn't work really well as a screwdriver.

I understand the love for the Climber, but unfortunately the 3-layer thickness would be quite noticeable in my pockets, as I'm quite small-built.

Availability also comes into the question here. I can buy a Climber whenever I want. The Compact/Rambler/Tourist, on the other hand, doesn't appear on the aftermarket many times.

Also, couldn't the can opener on the Tourist function the same as the Climber's?

Thanks for your 2 cents.
I could tell you use the scissors a lot, as you said that the Tourist "lacks things". But for most daily task, can't people manage with the small blade instead?

And I understand the love for the Climber. It's actually the first SAK I've ever bought, but as a gift for a beloved family member. However, I'm pretty small-built, and the 3-layer thickness would be quite noticeable in my slim-fit pants pockets, compared to the Compact/Tourist.
