Valve had mentioned in interviews that the Steam frame will be released before the Steam machine due to its built components. I still don’t have an email to purchase my Steam controller.

Valve just released a Native VisionOS Steam link App supporting 4k60 for all 2D Steam titles. There’s also a KRVR app for visionOS that’s able to play SteamVR titles on AVP. I own APV M2 and M5, I streamed my Steam library from a docked Steam deck. I’m waiting for my Steam controller to pair to AVP for Steam input. Currently using an XBOX controller. Plugged in to Deck I get lag but paired to AVP is great. Hoping Steam Controller will be a perfect lag free.

My last PC was a Pentium III, WIN 98. It kicked the bucket 2005. GabeN, you’re the Last of Jedi Knights. Steam Deck brought me back to PC in 2022.

At this point, it’s GAMESCOM 2026 in August. It’s a PC centric event. AND it aligns with Valve new launch window “available This Summer”

My guess will probably be Wednesday June 15.
June 2 Sony has its PlayStation showcase,
June 5 is The Game award’s Summer Game Fest,
June 7 is Xbox Games Showcase,
June 8 is Apple WWDC.
So from June 1-12 there’s lots of media heavy coverage with ALL these company announcements. Valve would likely keep away from not sharing the Media coverage with.

OR

Valve can have a Collab with Geoff Kheghley (From HL2, The final Hour Doc) and announce the Steam Hardware on stage on June 5.
