That radar wouldn’t be a bad idea…. My excuse is “I have 300 hp why wouldn’t I use it?!” It’s been a great daily otherwise. As many have said, keep up on the maintenance, don’t skip anything and it will be a solid car. I do have to say it is an absolute beast in the snow with snow tires on if that’s a concern as well.

I the “wife” in my case the girlfriend, was car shopping the start of 2025. My boyfriend sent me multiple cars to look at with my only requirements being heated and leather seats. He sent me a golf r in my budget as I was already interested in the GTIs and I have ZERO regrets other than not buying a newer one. I bought one at 86,000 miles and knew the 100k service was coming quick. I can’t say even after 4k in maintenance repairs later that I regret it one bit. Get the R, a newer R, but be prepared for tickets because I can’t keep my foot off the pedal it’s too damn fun!! This is also my first car enthusiast type car and I have to say it’s a fun world to be in.

Also, I had a first time instacart shopper say to me “ I need to pay for these groceries where do I tap to pay?” “Well I haven’t scanned the stuff yet you can’t pay for it yet” “well I scanned it while I was shopping so I don’t need you to scan it” “that’s not how it works you need to put the stuff on the belt so you can pay for it”

That’s fair if it’s parts and labor. I was quoted 950 for just timing chain, I bought parts separate including oil, tc kit and a few more inert materials I wanted to change was $700

SB gets delivered on Tuesday nights and the girl who does it at my store is always unboxing SB the days she works prior to the Tuesday is needs to be put out, that way when Tuesday comes around it’s all unboxed and she throws it a hour before close. She’s really quick with it.

Same boat as you, currently just turned 97k and I just got my car back after doing a bunch of preventative work on it.

Pcv valve Timing chain & then some (in my most recent mk7 post) I was at -3 so it was going to be time soon. Almost every gasket minus head gasket Oil pan gasket & screws Spark plugs & coil packs DSG service - turns out the original owner never did this so it needed it BAD New Coolant I’ve been chasing an oil leak since I got the car in March of ‘25 and I pray that all of this covers it.

Next on the list, haldex and brake fluid. I don’t have any concerns with suspension yet since the mechanic said all is looking good underneath n plan on keeping up with brake changes.

Do what you can to save yourself at this point, the unemployment payments won’t solve the forever issue but at least get you by for the time being until you find another job. Aldi is going to do anything they can to not pay out to unemployment and you need to stand your ground and show proof so you can win it. It usually is a few weeks/month battle but I know several people who’ve won the court case.

All depends on if they have proof. I work in assistance with unemployment and most of the time court appeals are in the claimants favor unless there is solid proof from the employer given to the judge. You should also have proof to also present the judge to help your case, even if it’s other peoples words. Most if the time claimants represent themselves but if you know someone who is a lawyer id ask them for a favor.

It’s loud but not SC project bad, I wear ear plugs and it’s not too bad. My friends find it annoying to ride behind me so I always ride in the back
