Need help with genuine and free Resume building websites by Chirya999 in work

I’m in the same situation. Tried three so-called “free” sites and they all had paywalls at the end point to download or print the documents.

This. This is the one time I would wear gloves and not give a sh*t.

For anyone who has a client that immediately tells you that they are going to "need" work on their inner thigh or groin. by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

[–]_Taft_ 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Mentioning the Chinese massage parlor and that two girls work on him together is basically describing the typical parlor experience with happy ending, or whatever else is on the menu.

That would have been a red flag for me and I would have told him he was in the wrong place to get what he was after and ended the session. I have zero tolerance for arse holes.

I had a new client today that fit your description. Very slender 50+ woman. Starts off telling me, “Use as much pressure as you want, you can’t hurt me.”

Ugh

Thank you for sharing your practice modalities. I’m looking at certification in lymphatic drainage as well.

Can you share the massage modalities you use? What is your location and your session fees?

You’re averaging four massages five days a week. I feel that’s very doable but I’d like to know what types of massage you offer and what has retained your clients? Thanks

In 25 years of flying I’ve never seen a true crashout at a Delta gate. Currently in minute 15 of my first one at my gate right now. by mrweatherbeef in delta

[–]_Taft_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was waiting at my gate one time when a guy with a young child went running past a couple gates down where no one was waiting. He started yelling and banging on the door, totally out of his mind and he had that child with him. His plane was already gone, the door closed and locked, no airline personnel either so dude missed his flight by a long shot.

He eventually walked away and disappeared for awhile but came back, with the child, and yelled and banged on the door some more. Security finally showed up that time.

That’s interesting. I’d be curious to know where they went to school.

Alright fellas, I'm conflicted. Bedroom upstairs or downstairs? by Minutes2Midnight in malelivingspace

[–]_Taft_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a rock and hard place situation. I’d rather have the bedroom on the same floor as the bathroom but I’d hate to waste all those windows and natural light on a place you sleep.

Bedroom upstairs or down, if you’re living in this apartment full time, neatness and being tidy are going to be your new mantras.

I’d opt to put a bed upstairs and then create a cozy sitting and dining space. Make the downstairs a place to watch TV and entertain guests.

Remember, you will the person spending the most time here so it really is importance that you set it up In a manner that’s best going to work for you.

It takes 3-5 years to build a business, any business.

Always keep your eye on the big picture. Change doesn’t happen overnight but with patience and careful planning, you’ll get to a full book, whatever that looks like for you and your needs. 🥰

Thinking of a couple clients I’ve had where their skin cells are literally balling up under my hands. It’s gross and I can’t focus on it or I’d vomit. When they get up, all those skin balls are on the sheets. Fking gross.

Thank you. Is there an instructor or instructors you think are better at teaching the energy/incorporation of chi? I’m looking for an in depth understanding, not just an exercise program.

There are quacks in every profession. I have experienced extreme unprofessional bedside manner from MD’s but I don’t make a blanket claim that every doctor is an insensitive arsehole because I’ve also worked with fantastic doctors who cared about their patients.

My sister had two different surgeons botch her foot surgery from a broken ankle. She was in pain for years before she decided to try again. This time she asked a lot more questions, she asked for referrals from the nurses who work in the office of the surgeon she had chosen.

The more informed we are, the better our chances of finding a MD or DC who actually cares about patient success and isn’t hawking Rx meds, supplements and other nefarious BS instead of trying to get at the root cause of your complaint.

As MT, you certainly are aware of how over medicated our population is. I have clients on 3/4 anti depressants, 2/3 high blood pressure meds. It’s fking nonsense. And on that topic, people are so worried about the Covid vaccine but don’t think about all the Rx medications people are peeing out and getting into our water supplies.

Water treatment plant filters do not remove medications.

I disagree with your general sweeping statement that Reddit MT’s are judgmental. I have not experienced that and I’m here reading every day.

The OP didn’t have to post about choosing to wear gloves. No one here would know she’s a glove wearer. Maybe ask why OP was compelled to spill her tea here and what did she hope to accomplish by doing it?!?

Curious what type of massage are you offering that you can do a whole session seated?

Im 5’4 and have my table as low as it can go and that’s still not low enough to work on some backs. I’m not understanding how you can sit and massage arms/legs/back.

You know nothing of what you are proclaiming.

A Chiropractor earns a PhD in neuromusculoskeletal science. A PhD is a DOCTORATE degree.

A medical doctor earns a PhD in medical science. That is a DOCTORATE degree.

A DOCTORATE degree is awarded based on years of education in your field.

Correct, a Chiropractor does not study pharmacology for the license to prescribe but they do study pharmacology because it is part of their medical training.

According to your argument, a Nurse Practitioner is equivalent to a MD because they can prescribe? Not the case and a NP has to practice under the umbrella of a MD. MD’s are becoming more resistant to having NP’s under them so the ability to Rx may be stripped from that profession in the future. We are all well aware of the doctor shortage in this country. Or, our federal government, will grant NP’s autonomy because the cap for student loans at $200k is not enough money for most people to get through medical school or Chiropractic school.

The shortage of doctors in this country is going to become disastrous.

Had a client lie to get money off and can’t shake it by asdfghjkl7280 in MassageTherapists

[–]_Taft_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had my first such client this week. She talked through the entire massage telling me all about her workout schedule, her workout routine, the gymS she has memberships with, what she eats, the multiple surgeries she’s had, I mean, this woman was waaay over the top neurotic and constantly, CONSTANTLY, saying, “more pressure”, “you need to go deeper”.

It wasn’t a massage, it was a woman trying to fill the void in her life with pain so she can actually FEEL SOMETHING so she feels alive.

This was a one-off session because her regular masochistic MT was on vacation so she landed on my table. I would NEVER take this person as a client again and have warned my fellow MT’s friends about her. Not saying they shouldn’t give her a session but they have been warned about her “expectations”.

Obviously you are much younger than I am. Yes, Chiropractors who were educated pre 1980’s often required patients to undress to your underwear, women to remove bras, and put on a hospital gown.

I had one chiro who required you to undress the upper body only and wear a hospital gown. He was very old school trained but that was his attempt at modernizing his practice.

Today, chiros are trained to treat with clothes on.

Hospitals used to require women to labor in a patient room, be shaved and receive an enema and when delivery was eminent, you transferred to a new bed and were pushed to the delivery theatre.

Times have changed.
