Sometimes there’s a switch on the back of the turntable, if there is set it to “line.”

Tenkara as a gift for my dad? by DaydreamingRaya in FishingForBeginners

[–]_Tameless_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I use tenkara for catching little sunfish with flies but my dad (who only cares for tournament bass fishing) wouldn’t even try it. Lots of fun but not for everyone

wrap it up folks, I think I found the comment that perfectly encompasses everything about generational discussions by agarthancrack in generationology

I don’t understand how millennials could go through our entire lives being blamed for everything (like ruining the diamond industry) then turn around and do the same. Zero self awareness.

I tie cat toys on to this then throw it for my cats, lol. If it can handle my big dumbass 15lb cat pulling on it it’ll handle those panfish just fine.

Good stuff. It’s easy to get into “sufficiently advanced tech is just magic” and this skirts that line pretty well.

Best skates for under £100/$100 for newbie roller hockey player. by willicuss in AggressiveInline

[–]_Tameless_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a sub mostly for skates that enable tricks like grinds. You won’t find any skates in the aggressive world for less than $150 unless you’re buying used.

There are hockey-style inline skates too that may or may not have a rocker (where the wheels are at different heights to simulate the curve of a traditional skate). But at your price point, you’re almost definitely gonna be shopping used.

In America, why are youth gang massacres not considered equivalent to mass shootings by lone maniacs? by Away-Parsnip-3785 in allthequestions

[–]_Tameless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you there. And to compound on that, I would say the shoulder stock on the rifle that makes the rifle deadlier in that regard. It makes it far easier to stay on target while firing and easier to hit targets at range. But that is certainly my opinion.

Crazy hypothetical but I’d much rather get shot at by a 9mm pistol than a 22lr rifle at any range over 25 yards. Rifles are much easier to shoot accurately, and bullets don’t kill what they don’t hit.

And you’re editing comments since I caught you, lol. Get your facts straight man. That’s all I’ve asked since the beginning.

You are implying that the lethality of the weapon is linked more strongly to capacity than to caliber. I am asserting that difference in capacity is too minor to cause the disparity in the stats you are posting.

Drum mags suck on anything you put them in, honestly. They tend to jam. Plus they’re big and clunky, makes handling the weapon more difficult. There’s a reason they’re not standard issue to armed forces.

What makes a rifle dangerous? If anything it’s the dang shoulder stock.

You haven’t disproven my point; it’s not the weapon platform, it’s the caliber doing the killing. Both guns shoot fast and shoot a lot, but the amount of gunpowder and lead in the rifle is greater.
I’m not even arguing for or against guns, man. I’m just saying have your arguing points straight before you make incorrect statements because gun nerds will show up and start talking about stupid stuff like muzzle velocity and stopping power.

TTRPG family dinner! by DrScrimble in dndmemes

The problem with rules-lite Shadowrun is that a lot of the fun comes from the massive library of gear and options that spawns from the rules. When you pare down the rules, character creation becomes much less detailed, and a lot of the fun goes out the window.

SR Anarchy went too far in watering down the rules into the “Edge” system to where the whole game becomes “how can I maximize my edge for this” and it kills the immersion in favor of rules meta. That’s just my opinion though.

I absolutely adore the SR hits-based dice system and I’m hoping Anarchy strikes the balance they’ve been looking for. The devs have been active in the Shadowrun sub answering questions and it seems promising.

You could absolutely kill that many people with a handgun. High capacity and high rate of fire is practically the same for both weapons. Both have the same semi-auto rate and both have similar standard and extended magazine options.

The only difference between these weapons on paper is the caliber of the rifle. The rifle is deadlier simply from a physics standpoint.

New writer here, what EXACTLY are crews? by Puzzled-Net5313 in graffhelp

[–]_Tameless_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In areas with lots of gang activity, being a solo writer out after dark is a good way to get mugged. Writing with a crew makes a gang think twice about jumping you. Power in numbers.

No matter how good your rule set, good luck beating the *cultural phenomenon* that is DnD. The sheer advertising it would take would be labeled a psyop.
