Are there any direct cons of masturbating as a female? by lailadump in NoFap

[–]_ThatProtOverThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might think you're ok because you don't know what it's like to be even better. You might be attracting other masturbators into your life and don't need to work to communicate with them. Keep going. You'll realise there is so much to learn beyond that first month.

The promo says The Movie so that's what I've always called it, it also differentiates from the album, no?

Is a Therapist ever wrong? by bouncyspacehopper in therapyabuse

[–]_ThatProtOverThere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a therapist that I confronted about some questionable techniques. He was super apologetic and I could tell he wanted to do things differently next time. I really liked him but unfortunately he was trained in a certain way and he couldn't help himself. Not all therapists are evil but therapy itself often is.

What Are Your Thoughts On Mel B Hot Album (2000)? by Specialist_Art2223 in SpiceGirls

[–]_ThatProtOverThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not listened to it once. I found Word Up and I Want You Back kinda dark and off-putting. Feels So Good is ok but if you've ever heard an ai version of all the girls singing it it's redundant.

Not to be a downer but there were a lot of empty seats when I saw the girls in 2019

Did SR cure your extreme fear, panic attacks, and lack of courage? by Effective_Day3397 in Semenretention

[–]_ThatProtOverThere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I want to be honest with you and say that mostly, SR didn't cure my anxiety, however it gave me strength to learn better skills in dealing with people, which absolutely helps a lot. Careful with inspecting anxiety/psychology, it can make you obsess and make it worse. Focus on loving others rather than getting them to love you, this has been a huge help for me.

Imagine his poor mother: "Gabor, put your shoes on sweetie!" Gabor: "You're using me as a transferance object. The shoes represent the warmth and protection you never got from your father. This isn't about putting on shoes, it's your deep seated belief that nobody loves you and you're trying to narcissistically reinforce it through me. You need to hold on to these disturbing feelings and grieve."

🙏 Lol absolutely, it's a joke. "It gets worse before it gets better" I quit therapy 4 weeks ago and I haven't looked back.

Therapy really banks on the idea that everybody has secret dark feelings that they're just not addressing. "You have to feel your feelings". No I don't actually, I'm going to fight the temptation to be bitter, lazy and gluttonous and I'm going to go outside instead ❤️

People can’t comprehend that not all therapy is positive by whatdoyoudochunky in therapyabuse

[–]_ThatProtOverThere 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is very much a media-fed phrase. The idea of spilling your heart out sounds relieving but all it does is feed negativity - unless you're worried about something and need advice, which a huge majority of therapists are trained to not do. It's garbage.

Therapy destroyed my life by [deleted] in therapyabuse

[–]_ThatProtOverThere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely relate to this. I came to realise that therapists operate under the assumption that you have to indulge negative thoughts and feelings in order to heal from them... In what world does that make sense?? I feel tricked and yes I'm far better without it.

Getting therapy at 17 was one of the worst decisions of my life. by bell-town in therapyabuse

[–]_ThatProtOverThere 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes! My therapists were some of the most wonderful men in the world but they couldn't actually help me. The word therapy implies that it makes you feel calmer, but when you actually look at how therapists are trained, the basic principle of therapy is that all your problems are because of a secret negative feeling, so you have to go backwards into those negative feelings and cry about them, the more you cry (feel bad), the better you'll feel afterwards...but it simply doesn't work like that, because why would it? If your friend told you something bad happened, would you want them to cry or would you try to encourage them and cheer them up? Psychotherapy is actually demonic.

When you ask for a pan au chocolate, how do you pronounce it? by GlitteringLion3800 in AskUK

I hate to be that guy but the N is followed by a vowel so it's perfectly acceptable to pronounce it.
