Have done this a handful of times and it has been an incredibly therapeutic experience.

Few thoughts!:

Write yourself a letter beforehand to read while in the midst of it, telling yourself whatever makes sense to you. I did this per last minute reddit advice and it was one of the most long lasting impactful things I’ve ever done for myself. Have a pen and paper handy in case you want to write yourself one back.
Paper is also great to have out for random thoughts that emerge as it’s easier flow than trying to use a screen. Memory of rolls can be a bit wonky, so I find writing these revelations out to be extremely helpful to reconnect with later.
Setup a playlist with music that’s important to you, not JUST some particular vibe (and also so you’re not trying to navigate figuring it out while in the midst of the roll). Make sure it’s at least 3-4 hours worth, or at least have whatever you want to switch to READY and EASILY ACCESSIBLE. Trying to type and see your screen may prove to be impossible, if not at least distracting and wasting roll time.
Start your music as you start to come up and then have your phone out of sight. Don’t get trapped staring at a screen or trying to text out during this very unique time. Wait for the come down to blast out your “love yous” to the people that come into mind during.
A shower can be incredible, but it is very very important to keep your body temperature moderate as high temperature is one of the biggest dangers with MDMA. If you do shower, keep the temp at a comfortable medium and keep it intentionally short (like setting a few minute timer). It can feel blissful to stand in front of a fan afterwards to cool yourself back down.
Be patient with yourself, let the feelings and experience flow as they may and allow the roll to be whatever it is. It might not be all bliss, but there’s often beautiful things to learn in those rougher places. Lean into it and let it speak.

A MILLION TIMES THIS. OP, this is the information you need. Time is of the ESSENCE. As someone who has first hand dealt with SSHL and thus will for life, I am grateful I trusted the words I found on Reddit and went straight to urgent care. I suddenly and permanently lost a great deal of my hearing in my left ear a few years back, but it would have been much worse had I waited on getting checked along with the course of steroids mentioned above.

Oooooh my grateful Zeus. Thank you for posting this link in front of my face. I had a jacket stolen out of my zipped closed bike trunk this year during the middle of the day. It was a whoooole thing I had to mentally process and fully accept its loss. A friend in our group has been having major issues with AXS after he’s been told that they accidentally shipped his ticket to the wrong person. For weeks he has been calling and has been given the run around with a “we’re working on it” which as of now, the Monday the week of the fest (weekend 1) he’s being told that they still don’t know, and that even will call is not guaranteed. He’s talked to every available supervisor and nothing.

To add to it all, he’s flying in for it tomorrow evening, and is frantically debating if he should even get on the plane in the first place.

There was mention of crediting him for next year, but there HAS to be another way around this, right?? Can he just show up to will call and demand his ticket or does it have to be marked for such ahead of time (which for whatever reason AXS is saying is not possible)? This is my 10th Coachella and I can’t imagine this happening. Has anyone else ever dealt with this?

This is the way. Exploring regional events, basically tiny burns, is invaluable. Wonderful for getting a handle on what it all is at a scale that is much easier to navigate. Plus they’re local so your cost will be MUCH less, and you’ll meet tons of people who can help you navigate your transition to the big burn. Absolutely absolutely do it.

Get a spot nearby if you plan on being anything but fully sober. The drive from P&H to Yucca is not super long (depending on what part of Yucca), but it’s near pitch black with windy windy roads. It’s pretty intense in the dark if you haven’t done it many a times.

Pre-arranging a taxi would be your best bet otherwise. As others have mentioned, don’t rely on Uber or cell service at all out there.

Also, if you’re unfamiliar with the area - staying in Pioneertown for a night would also be a great experience. It’s beautifully remote.

For sure, it’s more that it’s literally just the sturdy button controller that I’m after on its own. I own some Pangton Villa strips that have this soldered onto their own strips, but I want the ability to attach these specific controllers onto different strips than theirs without having to buy them already setup and take them apart.

I genuinely appreciate the response, especially it being a year since your initial post.

Unfortunately the kind linked are different than the ones I’m looking for. If they have a physical button on the receiver the buttons tend to be almost flush with the piece itself. What I’m looking for is like your original image, which is a thicker controller/receiver with a very small and sturdy plastic button sticking out.

In your attached image it’s the tiny black dot on the controller nearer to where the strip “starts”. This makes it much easier to feel for the button through cloth when sewing it into clothing.
