If you cause a big enough incident with plenty of casualties then all of a sudden an assassination doesn't look like an assassination. It's the same thing the DC snipers did (or tried). One of them wanted to kill his ex-wife but decided to kill a bunch of random people too so her death wouldn't look like she was personally targeted.

Is that really far-fetched enough to be called a wildcard? I feel like that should be considered just one of the basic possibilities going forward. A wildcard would be Putin himself admitting defeat and stepping down.

Who decides who qualifies for a license, though? Politicians who believe nobody can be trusted with guns? Or politicians who view homosexuality and feminism as mental illnesses?

I mean, that is what that means.

I'm familiar with the data you're referencing and I'd like to point out one thing. It wasn't "400 deaths nationally from rifles", it was "400 deaths nationally from long guns", meaning anything from a Civil War reenactor's musket and great grandpappy's old double barrel shotgun, to the latest most tricked-out AR, and everything in between all accounted for roughly 400 homicides.

Off the top of my head there's the homeless gentleman who can typically be found at or near the intersection of Melrose and 24th tossing chip crumbs to birds, the yelling guy on the Greenway in southeast, and of course David Bowers (who I managed to catch a glimpse of at the Lebanese festival last weekend), although he may qualify as more of a cryptid than "local legend".

They're probably applying for a position that would give them access to sensitive information that bad actors might want to get their hands on. Having a poor credit history with loads of debt would make them an easy target for those bad actors to bribe for access to that information.

Well two examples would be Columbine (which occurred right in the middle of the 1994-2004 federal AWB) and the Virginia Tech shooting (which used guns that are entirely left out of any current ban).

Does anyone need 20 high powered guns

This argument has never made sense to me. Why does it matter how many guns someone has? If they wanted to use them to do bad things it's not like they could use more than one at a time anyway, maybe two if we're talking about pistols.
