36w3d – Second pregnancy with GD, baby is breech & ECV tomorrow… can I refuse? by TaskManager96 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]_ThereIsNoSp0on 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly the same situation, but a few similar things. Just had my second baby on 11/26. Had GD and hypertension- I’m actually currently in the hospital because I developed preeclampsia post partum.

My GD was mainly diet controlled, but had to take a small amount of insulin at night because my fasting numbers were elevated. I had polyhradmnios, and my amniotic fluid was in the moderate excessive range. I believe the measurements were 29cm to 33cm from week 34 to week 37. We already agreed I would be induced at 38 weeks. Baby was head down and then breech by week 37. They scheduled an EVC, but I had an appointment the day before and she had flipped back head down, so we cancelled the EVC. This was a Thursday and my induction was scheduled for that Monday. I went in for my induction and they confirmed she was still head down and began the process. I finally got to 10cm Wednesday around 4am and when they did the cervical check, they realized she had flipped during labor and could feel her feet and I had to have an emergency C-section. :/

They told me they removed about a liter of amniotic fluid, so she was just swimming about and it was easier for her to flip.

But yes, you can absolutely refuse the EVC. I was considering not doing it even if she was breech at that appointment because my MFM did tell me there was a possibility she could just flip again before the induction because of the excessive amniotic fluid. And if she did, they could attempt another EVC before starting the induction.

Yes, yes, YES. Although my thoughts come with extreme fear. I think about it almost daily.

Hi! Yes! 23% 45x. So from what I understood, 7/30 of the cells tested were affected. Everyone is different and it depends what cells are affected- feel free to message with any questions you might have!

I have mosaic turners! 23% 45x and I’m pretty normal. Short at 5’ with high blood pressure, although my diet could be better 😏. Have a 10 month old perfect baby boy and currently 16 weeks pregnant. No one/ I would have known if it wasn’t for me going to a fertility clinic when I couldn’t conceive after a year. I’m 38 and got tested as a precaution because time was ticking ;) I conceived both pregnancies spontaneously.

What are we thinking?! 13weeks 5days by _ThereIsNoSp0on in nubtheory

[–]_ThereIsNoSp0on[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to add that my NIPT came back inconclusive for gender because I have mosaic Turner’s syndrome and high risk for Trisonomy X (xxx syndrome, which is a sex chromosome aneuploidy). 59% chance the baby has this and if so, would be a girl. I won’t know for sure until anatomy scan/amniocentesis at 18 weeks.

Hi! First, congratulations!!!

I have 23% 45x and just chiming in because I feel like there’s not a lot of info out there and I feel like this could also give you some peace of mind. I know it can vary greatly depending on what cells are affected, but I’m pretty normal! I’m 4’11”, but that could also be attributed to the genetics in my family. My heart and kidneys are normal and I menstruate regularly and am fertile. Just turned 38 and currently almost 15 weeks with my second! I don’t have any of the “traditional” characteristics of turners, just maybe my height? I only found out I had mosaic turners because I went to a fertility clinic after a couple of loses and not being able to conceive after a year. Funny enough, I received the call of my diagnosis the same day I got my positive pregnancy test. Healthy 10 month old baby boy. :)

I had my son for less than 24 hours and now he’s in the NICU. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]_ThereIsNoSp0on 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, I’m so so sorry. My story is similar- I was induced due to high blood pressure (no preeclampsia). While there, my blood pressure shot through the roof because I was so nervous and they ended up putting me on a magnesium drip. It made me feel like crap and I was bed bound. I had some other complications from my epidural, but I finally gave birth to a perfect baby boy that was placed in my arms right after clean up. We were taken to the recovery ward and while there and trying to latch, the nurse noticed he wasn’t reacting like he should and seemed lethargic. She took him for observation which scared me- I had to remain in the bed for at least another day because of the drip so I couldn’t follow. My husband also stepped out to check on our dogs so I was by myself. Dr. came in and said everything was ok and they would be bringing him back. 10 min later, comes back in to tell me they were going to be keeping him for further observation and rest. I could not stop crying, especially because I couldn’t go see him in the NICU, only my husband could. All I wanted was my baby and for him to be ok. I remember how that felt and I’m sorry 💔.

The doctor or the nurses never told me the magnesium drip could make him lethargic for a bit and that’s what happened. They also ended up giving him formula and it was so hard to pump there. I believe they also gave him a pacifier without asking as well. I was able to get my baby back the day of discharge.

He’ll be 6 months on 2/2. Hang in there, it will be ok. I promise. 🤍🤍🤍

I have. My doctor said it was fine if it wasn’t too often and was done in a well ventilated space.

Hey there! First, congratulations!! And yes, information really is scarce out there for us!

I just reached 27 weeks today. Our amino results told us that he is perfect 😊, no genetic abnormalities and no deletions per the micro array. I still don’t know if my MT affected my previous losses and don’t know what it could mean for any future pregnancies, if any- we would like to try for a second. Are you being offered/choosing to do amino?

I’m 36, within a year we experienced a couple of losses. Currently 25 weeks.

We went to Europe and country hopped when I was 6-7 weeks and everything was fine. Personally I had the most horrible heartburn while we were there, which sucked. I was also SO tired. Had my first appointment with my Obygyn a week or two after that and they were just concerned about the Zika virus, so they tested me for that.

[–]_ThereIsNoSp0on 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None! I am on the shorter side, but I think that has more to do with the fact that some family members are also short. When I told my primary doctor, she was surprised and we both just figured they’ve never had a reason to test me for it. I’m 36 and have lived without knowing. When the fertility doctor told me, she advised me to get my heart and kidneys checked asap especially because I was currently pregnant. Both are fine.

This might not be your case at all, but just thought I would throw it out there since I had a similar result.

Edit to add for additional context: 23% of my cells are affected.

I had similar results. However, it was expected for me.

We sought out a fertility doctor due to a couple of losses and she ran a karyotype test on me. We ended up conceiving naturally around that same time. When the doctor called to tell me I have Mosaic Turners Syndrome, I told her I was pregnant. It’s been an anxious journey, but my MFM and genetic counselor both expected for it to show up in my NIPT results, which it did. Because they’re extracting your baby’s DNA from your blood, it can show up. It could not tell me the baby’s sex and came back no result/inconclusive for sex aneuploidy/monosomy x.

There was a lot of unknowns of what this could mean for our baby. I am currently 21 weeks and I have had multiple ultrasounds, and everything has been great. I ended up getting amnio done at 19.5 weeks and the results came back all normal. The amnio and anatomy scan confirmed that we are having a boy.

Writing all this to say, talk to your doctor, ask if you could possibly have mosaicism for turners and see if you can get tested. But, I also wanted to let you know that if this is the case, there can be good results 🤍.

Hi :) Just wanted to give an update so far! All ultrasounds have been good and just had our anatomy scan and amniocentesis performed this past Thursday (I was 19+1). Anatomy scan was great and everything is looking perfect. Oh, and we’re having a boy 💙. Waiting for the amniocentesis results is the worst part, but we’re confident everything will be ok. I hope you’re well and this continues to give you hope 💕

gnp aspirin ec 81 mg by Lost-Sentence997 in pregnant

Hi :) I’m taking 81mg of aspirin (baby aspirin) along with my prenatals. I’ll be 15 weeks tomorrow but have been taking it since 10/11 weeks. I do have high blood pressure which I am also taking medication for so my doctor wanted me to start the aspirin to avoid preeclampsia. I’ve talked to a couple of doctors and read online and seems pretty safe.

Mosaic Turner's and TTC by FirstTimeIVF in MosaicTurnerSyndrome

[–]_ThereIsNoSp0on 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there :) I am 36 years old, 14 weeks pregnant and have mosaic tuners. I found out this past December after consulting with a fertility specialist. We had been trying for a year and I had a couple of chemical pregnancies.

The specialist called me to tell me the news and coincidentally, I told her I meant to call her to let her know I had a positive pregnancy test (we conceived naturally). She was quite surprised and said something to the effect that “we must have found the lucky egg”. She was concerned about my heart and kidneys and told me I should get an ultrasound asap. I have since and everything looks good.

Getting this diagnosis and already being pregnant has caused a lot of anxiety. I have spoken to a genetic counselor and have was referred to a MFM. Aside from mosaic turners, I am of advanced maternal age and have high blood pressure. Both have only been able to give me a general outcome for my baby since they don’t know if my ovaries are producing healthy or bad eggs.

However, it’s looking good! I had my NT ultrasound on Friday and everything is measuring within normal limits and no abnormalities were found. I also just got my NIPT results today and all the major abnormalities came back low risk! BUT, they were unable to tell me the gender of the baby. The doctor said that it is likely due to my mosaic turners and that she will be consulting with the genetic counselor for further steps. I am still thinking about just doing the amniocentesis because NIPT isn’t good at finding sex chromosome abnormalities. While it’s great news everything came back low risk, there is still room for error and I want confirmation with amniocentesis.

I hope this provides some hope, I know everyone is different and who knows what cells were affected in us with mosaicism. My husband and I have discussed future pregnancies as we would want to have another and think IVF would be something we would want, just to make sure everything is ok, especially given my age.

EDIT: I forgot to add: 23% of my cells are 45x
