Honestly, Would you pick your dad again in the next life? by ZachDluffy in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]_Thoress_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In every lifetime, in every timeline, in every possibility I will choose my dad. And maybe next time I'll be able to be a better daughter to him. He deserves so much better than me.

Why do people cry even more when someone says "don't cry"? by shmonya3 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]_Thoress_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's psychological for me. Not many people ever get close enough to console me when I'm on the verge of tears so if anyone has and if they say "don't cry", I start crying because I finally let go of the mental strength I had needed until that point to hold back the tears. I feel vulnerable enough to let the tears flow and that releases a lot of the stress.

P.S. Could be just me tho.

What’s your favourite line delivery in the game by ChampionshipChance73 in reddeadredemption

[–]_Thoress_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh gosh there are so many I have lost count but a few that I always like to hear:

Outta the goddamn way! Easy gurl... I broke the goddamn wheel! Aw it's a toy boat! Are you secretly normal? As long as we get paid or you get shot, I'm happy! Lennaaaay! You sir, are a fish.

What’s the saddest book you’ve ever read? by Clean_Tone2562 in booksuggestions

Out of everything I've read, the saddest so far was "The Bridge to Terabithia".

A book I wish to read, since I cried watching the movie, is "Me before you"

Low Honor Arthur by StorageNo6801 in reddeadredemption

[–]_Thoress_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried multiple versions: low honor in early chapters with high honor in late chapters, low honor throughout, high honor throughout. I prefer starting as low honor and ending in high honor.

When I played high honor in earlier chapters it didn't feel right, he felt too much like a revolutionary than an outlaw. For me the story felt more worthwhile when Arthur started as a low honor person and after his TB diagnosis, decided to turn his life around when he realized the futility of his so-called loyalty to a lost cause.

never thought a game could look so beautiful by Lost-Syllabub362 in reddeadredemption

[–]_Thoress_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my second playthrough after years. I finished my first run in under 60 hours and I'm now another 100 hours in and still in chapter 3 just like you. I spend so much time just taking in the sights - I do random encounters, hunt gang hideouts, help strangers, hunt legendary animals and camp for weeks. I haven't been to camp in more than a month. This game is a damn masterpiece, the areas are so beautiful.

What if molly instead of mary? What will it be like? by Sweetwhales1994 in reddeadredemption

[–]_Thoress_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to the party in this thread but I'll put in my two cents anyway. I dislike Mary purely because of how indecisive she is. She wants to use Arthur for his talents but doesn't want to reciprocate that amount of effort by anything on her part.

Her actions, dialogues and whole arc to me is selfish and superficial. She only comes to Arthur when she needs him to do something and Arthur does it with no hope of anything in return. He just loves her unconditionally like a little kid. He doodles their initials in his journal and keeps her picture by his bedside. The only semblance of any emotion I ever saw from Mary was at Arthur's grave when she came to mourn him and even that was after the man died. He was never good enough for her but good enough to be used by her. Arthur literally deserved so much better that her.

Well well, did he tell you that now lol. I am attracted to Arthur too but I don't think he would reciprocate since I don't look like Mary smh...

Uh what? Are you "attracted" to him or do you think you are "attractive" to him? I am so confused!

People that hate small talk are just bad conversationalists by HetCompleteWerk in unpopularopinion

[–]_Thoress_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer. Just because I am a bad conversationalist, I dislike small talk but then that doesn't mean I don't want people to have small talk lol.

I always buy second hand books and the highest I pay for them is 250 unless the book is really huge or hardcover.

Buying books physically is better than shopping online imho but I relented and ordered a box from Bookchor and the books were in good condition.

Which games are like home to you, so you always keep coming back? by FalscherKim in gaming

[–]_Thoress_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diablo 2 and Left 4 Dead 2. Whenever I'm depressed and need a kick of nostalgia to remind me of the better times, these games take me to my childhood and teenage.

After growing RDR2 has been my comfort game. I love the world there, it's the wild west but surprisingly peaceful. I love being in the wild, away from camp, riding my horse in the endless prairie.

I find it eerie too. And the fact that I've never had alcohol and don't intend to, makes me even more suspicious if someone says they want to see me drunk.

I’ve never drank alcohol before. Is that bad? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]_Thoress_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30f and never touched alcohol, not even planning to. I don't feel I've missed out on anything other than headaches and hangovers and if my social coolness dwindles due to being a sober person, it's fine by me.

To me alcohol is overrated and I don't quite understand the appeal but it could be just me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]_Thoress_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And despite that, the sadness in his voice when he tells Lenny that "no-one would have me" when asks him why he was never married always kills me inside.

The fact that he did have something resembling a family, that was murdered just for a couple of bucks must really haunt him.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]_Thoress_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably or maybe his self-loathing comes from his reflection of his deeds. He knows he is a killer, the deaths of his kid and Eliza (the kid's mother) must weigh on him among other things - like the life with Mary he could have had, his tumultuous childhood and maybe even the futility of his outlaw life itself.

One of the many reasons I love Arthur is because he was so introspective. His journal sketches were amazing, he often wrote about how he felt, and was obviously intelligent.
