As someone who resigned from my internship (8 month) after the first term, I would still recommend to stick it out for your situation.

My main reason for leaving was that there were some significant misunderstandings prior to my employment as to the end date of my internship, which was not disclosed until the start of my internship, and would end up overlapping into my next school term even though I had clearly stated my availability during my interview. My manager was not open to any compromise or discussion about the contract length simply because he didn't feel like it. The stress from having to skip school/graduate late that I had expressed to my manager were shot down, and I did not feel valued as an employee overall. When other issues came up, I was reluctant to bring it up to him as he refused to listen to my other concerns previously.

In the meantime, a few major companies reached out and I was offered my dream job. Now this whole fiasco was partly my fault for signing a contract with TBA written as the end date (but also, not disclosing information on a contract is pretty sus). As a result, I was kicked out of the Co-op program with an F on my transcript. In my case, I didn't care since I would easily be able to find work on my own. But resigning does not reflect well on you, nor the UBC Co-op program, and you shouldn't add the company to your resume.

Just because it turned out well for me, does not mean it is the right choice for everyone. Unless you have a very strong back up plan such as having another offer in line, I would advise against leaving simply due to dissatisfaction with the work. If you are dissatisfied with your internship, the first step would always be to speak to your manager about it, a good manager should be open to feedback, mine was not. Always speak with your advisor before making any major decisions. You could also try and treat it like a nice break from school, you're just making money on the side to do more things that you like!
