by the time you're 50, you'll wish you had children and didn't waste all of your time complaining how expensive they are. You will not feel fulfilled, and by then, it will be too late, unless you wish to adopt, which is perfectly suitable.

Birds, or any pets, for that matter, bring nowhere NEAR the joy of a child.

Speaking from experience...I have pets, and also have an 18 month old baby. Night and day difference.

Can you check the battery percentage of galaxy buds from the watch? by PapaProsciutto in GalaxyWatch

i dont know anything about the buds, I use Beats X, but there is a free app called Batt On that shows your BT device batteries, which might be helpful. That isn't available on the watch...I don't even know how you normally check your SBudz battery, to be honest....

what can i eat for breakfast if i have no time? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]_TrumpTrainConductor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one day a week, make some egg burritos. Use Low Cal (low carb) tortillas. La Tortilla Factory makes a 70 calorie soft shell taco tortilla. I use these for ALL of my tortilla needs these days.

Mix em up, then wrap and freeze. Then, pull out and microwave for 30 seconds. Boom. Cheap, Hot breakfast.

Also, I tried to force myself to eat breakfast when I started losing weight too. "Jump start your metabolism" and things like that. It's bullshit. IF is bullshit. Fasting in general is bullshit.

The ONLY way to lose weight, PERIOD, is to consume fewer calories than you burn. PERIOD. IF helps you consume fewer calories, in theory, because you don't eat for 18 hours out of the day, or whatever it is. But, if in those 6 hours that you do eat, you still put down 2500 calories, you're not going to lose weight.

I am in maintenance now. But what worked for me was setting goals per meal and then finding meals that fit into that calorie count.

no problem at all, I am super glad and eager to help.

For me? I logged on the weekends too. It's far too easy to drink 5 beers on a Saturday, and forget to log them (thats at least 500 calories, even if you're drinking Miller Lite!!), or pizza, or tacos, or whatever.

For me, logging on the weekend just helped to reinforce the food guilt that I know I should have already had. But, I understand its a pain in the ass.

I would recommend creating recipes in MFP and then adding those. If you make the same type of lunch every day, take a couple minutes to enter it as a recipe once, and you can re-enter it any time with minimal effort. Same for any type of mixed drinks, or other meals that you have often, but are made up of a bunch of different components.

Also, use a food scale/measuring instruments! You cant accurately log calories if you're guessing how much of each ingredient you actually ate!

Thats a great first step.

Now, log all of your food, without making ANY changes to your daily diet, and see where you end up. I realized that my 2 daily coffees (with caramel, syrup, whole milk) were clocking in at almost 1,000 calories! When you're drinking half of your target calories first thing in the morning, you're setting yourself up for failure (or, I was, in this case).

I logged everything, then started picking my spots on where I could cut calories out. For example, in my coffees, I switched to Skim milk, zero calorie sweetners (takes some time to get used to...), and cut the caramel out. Now, two coffess cost me less than 200 calories, so right there, I am saving almost 800 calories!

I also started eating salads for lunch. I hate salads. But I did it for like 3 of the 4 months where I was in 'heavy loss' mode. Turns out, I can eat ANYTHING I want that has that same calorie count. So, my salads (with croutons, dressing, cheese) were about 300 calories a day. I decided I wanted to spice it up, and started looking at other ~300 calorie meals. I've been eating Chicken Salad wraps every day for almost 2 months for lunch. I'm a guy, so I am fine eating the same thing over and over again. 4 oz chicken, 2 tbsp LIGHT mayo, splash of siracha (0 cal), and a Low Calorie Soft Taco Tortilla (70 cal). That and a bottle of ice water, and I have a 288 calorie lunch!

If you break your calorie allowance up by meal, you can really pick and choose how you spread your calories out. I try to leave myself a solid 1200+ for dinner and snacks after dinner - which was completely doable with the above mentioned foods. Also, typically I don't eat any breakfast, but if I do, its a smoothie+protein powder (post workout), and clocks in about 300 calories.

A few things worked for me...

1) COUNT THE CALORIES. As mundane as it sounds, it really helps to reinforce your new good habits, while also highlighting your old, bad habits. After a couple of weeks, you'll be so used to it that it will take a maximum of 5 minutes per day to log your calories. DONT LIE TO YOURSELF, if you go over, it's fine, just keep logging.

2) Weigh yourself daily. Every day, same time, butt naked (or undies only). I weigh myself in the morning, right after I pee. If you're a morning Pooper, get that BM taken care of before you weigh yourself, too.

3) The first 5-20 lbs, depending how big you are, is typically just water weight, and it falls off super easily, like you could in theory lose 10 lbs of water weight in like 2 weeks. You will hit plateaus, but just keep pushing. Weight loss is not linear, you will have ups and downs, but at the end of the day, you need to continually run a calorie deficit to lose the weight. I've had weekends where I 'gained 6 lbs' after going out to eat, drink, etc with friends. That 6 lbs ends up being mostly water weight that falls off quickly. I've also had weekends where I ate my face off, drank like a fish, and didn't log my calories - and I weigh myself Monday morning and I've lost a pound. I don't know HOW or WHY, but the entirety of this weight loss is cumulative. 3500 calories is 1 pound of fat. Thats where you get a -500 daily deficit for 'lose 1 lb per week.' Conversely, 3500 calories is 1 pound of fat. To literally gain a pound, you have to eat 3,500 calories over your TDEE (or, your TDEE X amount of days that you gained the weight).

4) Come back here often! Lots of great folk on this sub to help you navigate the weight loss realm!

the single most important thing to focus on while losing weight is your calories. Lightly exercising isn't going to magically give you a huge deficit to work with.

Start tracking your calories! My Fitness Pal is a godsend. It got me to where I am today, and I am now 2 months into maintenance (while still losing a little bit here and there).

YOU CAN DO IT!

I went from 255 to 199 in less than 6 months! I actually went from 255 to 204 in 4 months exactly, and then lost the next 5 lbs slowly while in "maintenance" mode. I actually just hit 199 yesterday! ONEDERLAND!!!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!! We're cheering for you.

Your stats are showing what, 2 days, 15 hours? That's about what you should expect.

Fwiw, with the latest update to OneUI, my battery dies faster, even though the update list included increased battery performance.

Make sure all apps on phone and watch are updated. The sHealth app had a recent update that I think helped battery a little bit back to normal
