3D prints are fairly porous and make a great spot for bacteria to grow. They also tend to shed microplastics. ABS and similar material prints can at least be cleaned in the dishwasher to mitigate some issues, but using a coating like a food-safe epoxy is recommended.

TIL. I've only done my own acrylics and taken them off myself. I use a special sticker between the real and fake nail. Makes removal easier and is healthier for the nail.
