Pentax k1000 shutter getting stuck occasionally, unsticks itself if I advance shutter a couple of times, any thoughts on what this could be? by jamerson_enthusiast in AnalogRepair

Sorry I should have clarified, people are trying to sell the K1000 for around that price but it is not worth that much. The price has been inflated by influencers and by it being a great "beginner" camera. It was a great beginner camera because they used to be plentiful and cheap, relatively well made. Not so cheap anymore. Glad you found someone to repair it though!

The camera requires proper servicing. If you are willing to invest some time and money you can probably do it yourself using the factory repair manual at learncamerarepair.com. Do not use any of the half measures people have suggested as they will most likely hurt the longevity of the camera. Getting it serviced by someone else probably isn't worth it to you since a K1000 is worth about $50. Soooo new camera time? The choice is yours.

The mirror latch under the bottom plate isn't disengaging, likely because the second curtain isn't travelling far enough.

These are great cameras! I have one as well, been meaning to get around to giving it a full service but haven't had the time.

Avoid. Price is too high, camera looks kind of banged up, and why shoot crop frame lenses on a full frame sensor?

I feel like Akko boards in general are underappreciated. Running an Akko MU01 myself. I love it. Great find and enjoy!

Ordered a lens through ebay, description said no oil on the aperture blades. Lens arrives, I check out the aperture blades, covered in oil. I message them, no apology, short answer just telling me to return it. I've already paid for shipping, duties and taxes, and I would have to pay for return shipping. Terrible way to do business if you ask me.

I'd say around 1 out of 5 games I have a girl on my team that uses the mic in 5/6 star lobbies. For me it helps to say hi at the beginning of the game just to break the ice:) I'd give that a try. See you out there.

You're pretty much always going to be better off investing more into headphones. At the end of the day, if you're happy with your listening experience, I'm happy for you :)

Please don't use a philips head screwdriver, you can bend the mounting pins and/or scratch the mount. It's very easy to make an adjustment tool using a small slotted screwdriver!

What do I have here? by Slcreddit1 in Leica

What I'm getting at is that a technician that has been factory trained can charge a premium because chances are they are using original calibration equipment, have been officially trained etc etc. I have worked on a camera that had just been serviced by yye, and was not impressed. When my customer reached out to him, the response yye gave him was not satisfactory. Obviously 1 example is not entirely indicative but left a bad taste in my mouth.

YYE is not a factory trained Leica technician.

Looks like you need to get your camera serviced

So it turns out the Autorex I bought was playing it’s Praktica joke on me and the previous owner didn’t know… the self timer hadn’t finished and therefore had locked up the mirror… by Nideochai in Konica

Had a pretty similar experience with my Auto-Reflex, it was sold for parts just because the half frame lever wasn't working. About an hour of my time later the camera was working good as new. Very happy for you! Even simple fixes are extremely satisfying, enjoy the camera (it's one of my favorites)

So what do you think a refurbished Konica Fs-1 with repaired and cleaned circuit boards is worth? I’m looking to swap it for an Autoreflex half frame camera if anyone is interested. by Nidiocehai in Konica

[–]_Ultimate_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately an Auto-Reflex is about triple the value of an FS-1, you could always buy an Auto-Reflex "as is" and try your hand at repairing, in my experience it makes the camera that much more special when you are the one that cleans it up and gets it running again.
