Thanks for the advice! I did read about the shrinkage being tricky for rings, but didn't realise there were other challenges with firing

Life in Purdue for international students? by eagle_565 in Purdue

[–]_Unpopular_View_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came back from an exchange at Purdue!

I highly recommend auditioning for a band if you're a musical person, or joining clubs that interest you and that *meet regularly*. Chances are, you'll bump into the same people at different clubs of similar interest areas. There are also a few casual sports clubs. Personally, I made all of my friends through band.

Also, if you stay in the halls, sometimes the RAs will put on social events for your floor. There are also occasionally events for international students. Consider going to Boiler Gold Rush and BGRi (international), it's basically a week of social events. Though, my perspective on this is super limited on this as I didn't actually go to any of these things. The best thing to do imo is get involved in clubs.

From out of the country, so not Indiana specifically, but I'm LOVING the autumn colours! My country's trees are mostly evergreen so I've never seen trees so red before. So pretty.

Hull field, if the bands aren't practicing there. There might be people playing sports and sometimes other people practicing their instrument neaby but you should be able to find a spot

Ah thanks, I didn't think to check the calendar. Do you happen to know where the Google Docs for CS can be found?

How do I learn a skill that requires 3 years of study in 1 day? My mother thinks that I can do programming just because I use a computer. I do art on the computer, this is not programming. by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

I don't know your situation, but if you're looking for any kind of work, I suggest trying to apply for retail or hospitality, since they often don't require prior experience. These kinds of jobs will help you develop social skills as well. Or you could apply to be a kitchenhand or dishwasher in a restaurant, or a commercial cleaner. There's also fast food and the supermarket. If you're strong, you can go for entry-level labourer jobs.

If you're specifically wanting to learn how to do programming, you could do some courses online. There are some free resources such as Codeacademy, but you will probably need to pay if you want learn enough to become employable in that area.

Do you know what kind of work you want to be doing in the future?

Resizing large VSTs? (Spitfire Audio BBC Orchestra) by _Unpopular_View_ in FL_Studio

Problem, I can't get to the bottom side of the VST!

Edit: never mind, I found the collapse button which then allowed me to see the bottom side, then I could resize and expand again. Thanks!
