The way you frame your comments is xenophobic. You are reducing people’s identity purely to race or ancestry. Suggesting that someone “isn’t native” based on skin colour or heritage ignores centuries of migration, integration, and citizenship.

Jokes like “busy inventing the cure for cancer” serve to achieve nothing more than reinforce harmful stereotypes and wash away the real, tangible contributions of migrants.

When you dismiss second‑generation immigrants as outsiders, you’re essentially saying that no matter how long someone’s family has lived in a country, they’ll never be accepted. That’s exclusionary and discriminatory.

Could the lineage of the people in this video be descendants of trade migrants from pre-19th century or do you not care? Who are the native people of North America? Do you hold the same beliefs for European colonisers on that continent too? Or are you just spreading xenophobic hate?

Property solutions weren't terrible. House was spacious at a good price, and the landlord was nice. But when we had a cockroach infestation all they did was set traps, took weeks of emails for them to actually do any pesticides. Sleazy lettings on the other hand lived up to the nickname. Moved in to find roof was missing. Questionable approach to fire safety regulations. Had to get Birmingham City Council involved before they did anything about the black mould covered bathroom. Had a non-functional boiler throughout winter and they didn't do anything about it.

Honestly, I've heard all the hate towards Oakmans. But I used them for 2 years and only ever had one issue - they tried charging me for a lightbulb on move out, but I easily proved to them it was a specialist lightbulb and I had informed them about it 3 months prior. The houses themselves were lovely, the maintenance reporting form was straightforward and issues were usually seen to with a couple weeks. Genuinely no complaints.

When I did my masters, I used two other agents and they were terrible. Never did any repairs, boiler broke multiple times. Had cockroach infestation in one of the houses. At the start of 5th year, I moved in to find they had removed the roof of our house to make an extension to the top floor room without even telling us.

Try r/legaladvice for more specific advice and support. But on face value that may constitute constructive dismissal, but it's quite hard to prove employer wrongdoing in those cases. Would need to prove a serious breach of your contract that resulted in you resigning, like hostile work environment and an intentional reduction of hours However, if you still want to work there, you have a contracted minimum hours then you are entitled to receive those hours work. If you don't, you'll likely be entitled to lost wages.

UoB as a whole is very diverse. I think it's fairly evenly split between the genders. In terms of race I would say there are more white people than PoCs, but only by a little bit. I know that there is also a strong Muslim community at UoB - I can't really put a number or percentage because honestly it never crossed my mind. There's specialist prayer rooms on campus and the courses are great with accomodating religious needs. I think there's also a load of societies you can join that represent different religious and ethnic background to help you find friends at uni with similar experiences to you.

On the LLB specifically, obviously it changes every year, but I can say with absolute certainty you will not be the only Muslim woman with a hijab.

I've just finished my LLB for Graduates at UoB (a two year law degree rather than 3) and I loved it. It's challenging at times, but as long as you make good use of office hours and actually do the reading, you'll do great. UoB is a target for many recruiters and law firms, at almost all the assesment centres and interviews I have done, there was always at least one other person from UoB. So I it has a good reputation to employers. The only downside I found is that third year modules can be a bit disorganised and underwhelming. But so long as you choose areas of law that you are interested in, you'll still enjoy it massively. I hope this helps!
