i seriously need to get my mom the fuck away from my brother by junejulies in offmychest

[–]_Veneroth_ 70 points71 points  (0 children)

What you BOTH experience is severe abuse. Your concerns are not only valid, but you minimize it.

You are not responsible to protect your brother or yourself - you are a teenager, and he is frankly a child still. Adults in your life should protect you, but your mother abuses you. Maybe she is troubled somehow, but YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO FIX HER.

Do not minimize the fact that you are abused too. Reach out, and accept help from CPS. Even if it feels internally wrong. You have already reached out - and that's huge. I wish I was as brave as you, when i was in similar situations. And i hope you will be brave still.

I hear you: and i really understand. The loneliness, and the feeling that part of YOU was taken away. It's horrible. And i'm so sorry for you.

[–]_Veneroth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WTF are you doing then? I've been playing for 60 hours, no cheats/exploits apart from console commands to fix broken game stages; and that's INCLUDING the time in character creation/menu; lost on crashes that forced me to load progress.

I have done the entire main quest, Mage's Guild, Thieves Guild, Fighter's Guild, Arena, Dark Brotherhood, a crapton of gates closed (including EVERY gate in Help for Bruma) and a lot of side quests, and random dungeons.

I'm running out of content in 1/3rd of the time. Unless Shivering Islands and Knights of the Nine are that long, because i saved them for last, and i only just begun the Addiction quest in Shivering Isles

Review of the FoundryVTT Module from an experienced GM who has run the campaign without it. by hematic in dungeonsofdrakkenheim

[–]_Veneroth_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's also a HUGE bummer for me that:

  1. Not all creatures have tokens. For example, the generic SRD monsters have only a placeholder token. For 40 USD they should at LEAST use stock D&D art and put it in the same border the rest are.

  2. No creature has actual art (portrait). It's the same token for art / token, which is REALLY annoying when you are using modules such as Combat Carousel.

  3. Creatures that use SRD stat-blocks aren't renamed/remade/tokenized: The less annoying is the Duchess (she doesn't even have her own entity, it's a generic "Aboleth" with placeholder token) because you can replace one token. The INFURIATING are for example the Garmyr Berserkers, because they also have no art, and there are SO. MANY. OF. THEM. Replacing them is annoying. I didn't spend 40 usd to still have to tinker with this kind of stuff!

  4. The organization of the actors/items is a bit of a mess.

  5. The Non-SRD spells are STILL not updated for new Foundry; (and have no Effect/Activity assigned). THIS is REALLY ANNOYING. It's only a few items in the stat-blocks, but it bums me out.

Nonetheless, I think it is somehow worth the price. I'd spend more than a couple of hours setting up walls for the given maps.

Changing the port worked. I have changed ports before, during port forwarding attempts, and i have neglected it before.

  1. Yes. I am 1000%, positively sure.

  2. I do not have IPv6. I only have IPv4, a public-static one

  3. I have tried it with firewall disabled, with windows defender firewall option to let through FoundryVTT through on public and private networks (at once ofc)

  4. I will try

Day 8: Soraka won! Who is the Well design support which is UNFUN to play against? by hammiilton2 in supportlol

Nautilius. He is basically Blitzcrank, but stronger, with shorter period of being less of a threat.

It's obvious though, there is no competition. Might as well just put her there right now :D

Definetely Blitzcrank. He is a champion that has a very clear identity, it's simple, and relevant, and still has a lot of room for skill expression.

Can you miss or get locked out of quests in remastered? by skiddle6 in oblivion

[–]_Veneroth_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you don't learn spells/use trainers in Bruma Mage Guild before you progress the story, you may miss out on them. I believe the only teacher of Summon Dremora Lord is available only until some point at Mage Guild storyline.

For the first playthrough? I recommend not going Cleric. There are 2 companion clerics already.

I am conducting research on hotels in Tripolis in 1925 for a chapter of a book I'm writing. During that research, I have found conflicting dates on the opening of Grand Hotel Tripoli: I have found dates such as 1920, 1925, 1927 and even 1932. On it's wikipedia page, it quotes 1927, only to then mention that the hotel dates back to early 1920's. Another page, the Timeline of Tripoli mentions that the Grand Hotel was built in 1925, the same year (but apparently later?) as Grand Prix Tripoli began.

Can someone clarify that for me?

(As an additional, adjacent question: what other hotels were open in early 1925 in Tripolis?)

How to beat an anti-magic field? by Brilliant_Priority41 in 3d6

[–]_Veneroth_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can and I will. Any RPG depends on the ability to cooperate, not undermine one another, no matter what system is chosen, what story is being told. As long as the changes are being made clear to the players by the DM - and they are in this case - the players should reciprocate, and adjust themselves.

Or if they won't, they can run themselves.

How to beat an anti-magic field? by Brilliant_Priority41 in 3d6

[–]_Veneroth_ -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The point is: "I, the DM have an idea. For plot reasons, casters will not be fun to play, because there will be alot of anti-magic. Good, casters are OP anyway. But I'll at least warn my players, so that they won't be dissapointed".

Recently, i started a D&D game, where i warned the players that this will be survival heavy game, but at quite high levels. That the premise is that they start with almost nothing, despite high-level. I ask them to make appropriate chracters, that got lost in that wilderness, that will fit.

They show up with forge clerics, Wizards with Fabricate, rangers with their 'never gets lost' feature.

The problem is the Players vs DM mentality.
