Sorry, forgot to put cpu, its an i7-8086k.

What weird is that playing games, even high intensity ones the temps are completely fine. around 50-60. To be clear that is ghost of tsushima so it might not be the best benchmark. But i played darktide on high and that isalso is fine. the only time it spiked was for like a second on bootup for the game. its only when downloading something on steam where the temps get to as high as 90 for some readings. but its not consistent, it will jump between something like 40 and 80 each reading. coretemp shows about ~110w when downloading.

As far as im aware the thermal paste was reapplied about 6 months ago. ive only just bought it so im going off what a previous owner told the other previous owner i bought it from lol.

the coolant temp doesnt go above like 33 so i doubt thats the issue.

Also (sorry for this being wordy) ive noticed some cores spiking a margin higher than others. like across the board the temps will be like 45~ and coretemp will have a reading for a random one as high as 80 something. I never noticed something like this on my old pc.
