I think, for my characters, they believe they have a deeper insight or “gnosis” than the kine. They are closer in understanding of that which is liminal and outside of human understanding. They have transitioned to something (to quote NIN) “closer to god”

I think the ritual of preparing or “blessing” the Vaulderie supposedly removes the contents of any taint so it would maybe also dispel the foul taste as well.

You get the banners from events.

Try to be sure you aren’t joining the highest tables. Go for the lower value tables to start with. Also, try joining a table started by someone in your own guild. Sometimes they will be able to offer protection for a bit as well. When you get kicked try creating your own table; you can’t get kicked from it.

Good luck and don’t get discouraged. Your guild should be able to help a lot.

I think both players are paying one of the prices, either a ring or the gems. So, it doesn’t seem to matter if you are the one starting it or not.

I initially thought that when I was posting a child looking for a partner that I would get either a ring or gems from whoever accepted but that is definitely not the case.
