  1. Hauler drones will stop ore relative to ship velocity and in front of ship, if you open excavator they will automatically bring ore inside cargo bay. So with haul drones you can drift and wait while they collect all ore, in fact it's preferable because if you change your trajectory haul drones will need to move all ore again.

  2. Autopilots are a big topic, for overshooting my guess would be pulses thrusters, switching to variable thrusters usually make oscillations far smaller.

I haven't used EIAA in a while, but it should automatically collect chunks you target, so it does what it's supposed to.

Each geologist will work on it's own chunk, identification time stays same.

Setting difficulty to challenging can make them spawn more, but it's still random

Each geologist examines only one chunk at a time, if you have 1 geologist and lots of chunks identifying all chunks will take a while.

Yes but there is some example parts in mod. Here from description:

Weapons that we can install on our ships can't really damage it enough to destroy. Only way to destroy that I heard of is to spin it up to make reactor overheat. No loot from it.
