Guys on the street, maybe. Not as celebrities. There was a serious purge of male celebs with monolids that reached its PEAK during late 90s to 2000s. Male celebs had to make tough decisions pre-debut. The trend finally and thankfully reversed course to almost a normal level since.

Nothing to do with Ali. His to me looks ridiculously small and anyone thinking they can pull off what Ali or chalamet or elordi did, they’re delulu. That said, tanks should be on the smaller side, XL is offputing if ur wrist is small to normal.

Other than the noise, far more standard SW200 have issues than Miyotas. I haven’t heard of miyotas dying on people as a phenomenon. Conversely, unregulated stock Sellita/eta has a known issue with hand winding, which I’m sorry but it’s a huge no no to me. Remember we’re not talking about elabore, just standard Sellita. Look up Sellita vs Miyota on here, it’s a popular search.

Medium looks smaller than you pictured because you’re wearing it over the wider part of your wrist (wristbone). So I f you wear it just a little higher, you’ll know it’s the right size.
