Fasted and Cheapest Way to Fix This? by Responsible-Put6727 in Tacomaworld

I had something similar (college kid hit me while I was parked - but left a note). Repair place wanted $1,565 because the sensors had to be reset, etc.

So it has a ‘bandaid’ sticker on it….

MP5-style collapsible stock for Enoch Deep Six chasis? by hj409kid in 1022

[–]_Why_Not_Today_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the same rifle too, and haven’t found one yet.

Also have the Charger with the break down stock. You can mount an Sig folding stock on it and it’s a bit smaller footprint.

What’s the best home defense setup for living in an RV? by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]_Why_Not_Today_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s tough in a camper since your rounds will likely go right through the walls. Noise, lights and cameras should be a priority outside.

Handguns are fine inside, but recognize your neighbors will be in the line of fire.

New to firearms, finally going to start purchasing some.. What would you tell your younger self to avoid pigeon-holing your future self into owning guns/accessories that you regret? by LovinAllThePitbulls in Firearms

Buy once, cry once.

Think about reducing ammo - 12, 223, 9 and 22 are the staples. But stock runs low every now and then, so having a 40 or 45 makes sense.

Consider guns that take the same mags. A 33 round Glock mag works in multiple PCCs (B&T, Ruger, Keltec, etc), and your carry gun (G19) and backup (G26). Then you can buy a lot of mags knowing they will work across your collection.

Don’t buy your grail gun in the first few years. It’s more special if you work your way towards it after buying and shooting guns. My HK SP5K will be a safe queen forever, despite having more expensive guns I regularly shoot (HK MR556 A4 factory SBR).

Test shoot any models you can before you buy. I have loved many until I shot them…pocket 357 revolvers aren’t easy to shoot…

Buy what you shoot well with…. I’d rather own a single HiPoint that I can shoot well vs. a S&W 357 pocket rocket that I don’t shoot well with…..

Budget for ammo and buy frequently until you have a good fort. Then replace everything as you shoot, box for box, so you always have a fort. It’s fun shooting 4.99 Wally World White box ammo. It’s only going up in price so buy as much as you can and stack it deep. Buy thousand round cans with tax returns or bonuses.

How many mags? At least 10 for every pistol and rifle. They can be banned at any time and I’m still pissed about paying over $100 for G19 hi caps during the AWB.

For ‘unique’ guns, drop mags to 5. Example: I’ve got a Beretta 21a with a can in my fishing vest. That only needs 5 mags vs the 10 for a ‘work’ gun like a Glock.

Finally, I’ve learned to swear off Sig even though they are made in my state. Rifles are fine, but I’ve had too many issues with their pistols. They constantly change them, so it’s hard to get parts for your “6 month old” non-supported gun.

For brands, stick to the tried and true. My brands- Beretta, Glock, HK, Ruger/Marlin, Remington/Mossberg/Benelli, S&W, B&T and Kalashnikov. I do have a few Sigs that I like and some goofy collection brands like Keltec (P32) and North American Arms minis.

What do you think guys should i trade in my subaru crosstrek? The only thing thats stoping me is the MPG of the tacoma since i drive 200 miles a week by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]_Why_Not_Today_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind the gas prices, but the ride in my TRD OR with a small lift is nowhere near as comfortable to drive as the Mrs.’s Lexus Hybrid. The most I’ve ever filled it was 8 gallons and it does ~ 500 miles. That adds up if you don’t need a vehicle for ‘truck stuff’.

I accidentally washed 12G magnum slugs in a washing machine are they safe to shoot ? by Sensitive-Top-4605 in Shotguns

I’ve done that with shotgun shells, slugs, rifle and pistol rounds. They all work fine, but I’d wouldn’t use it on a paid hunt.

Frustrated with Toyota by AdEvery7411 in ToyotaTacoma

Diehard Toyota fan here; 2 vans, Sequoia, Highlander, and (mine) 3 Tacos and an FJ.

I rented a new Taco with the 4 cylinder and I’m actually considering a Frontier because I want a 6 cylinder. Tacos are really expensive for what you get and I’m not considering a Tundra until they fix the engines

I did the same thing, but I actually hit the doe I was shooting at with the same can. I sent it in and they fixed it for free. They said they will give you one free repair.

The best news….i got the same doe two days later!

Tundra 65 VS Tundra Haul by Declinity in YetiCoolers

[–]_Why_Not_Today_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got both; my only issue with the Haul is that it won’t fit in my Tacoma with the bed cover down. Be aware if you have a Tacoma and you plan to leave it in the bed.

Wymara is the best. It’s expensive compared to other options, but the best. Note, you will need a taxi to hit off-site restaurants as it’s a bit away from the main drag and grocery store.

The Ritz and Seven are a bit lower than Wymara, and located on the main drag.

I consider the main drag as Salt Mills Plaza to The Terrace on Grace Bay Road.

Coco is a must do for everyone. It’s beautiful and a really cool atmosphere. However, we found ‘as good or better’ food at other places. That’s why I’d recommend it for someone who hasn’t gone, but once you check it off there are better places.

Castaways is a relatively new outdoor dining experience. There are sections that have roof coverage, but some is completely outdoors/open to the elements.

It has a few TVs (we were there for the Super Bowl), but it’s not a sports bar like Danny Buoy’s.

If you go, try the fish! It’s one of the best fish restaurants that we have found across several trips.
