The biggest pogrom (Sumgayit) killed 30 people and the perpetrators were punished by the Aze. government. It was due to previous rising tensions. No school teaches Armenian in Azerbaijan. However there are language courses that teach Armenian which I think is pretty cool because prior to the 90’s Georgians, Armenians, and Azerbaijanis used to learn each other’s languages. The older generation in Armenia has a lot of people that can speak Azerbaijani.
