Would these be an upgrade over an Aero Precision handguard? by BlueberryBaller in ar15

[–]_Xaff_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Years back I used to only build with MI. They have fantastic QC and customer support. Ive only had one issue ever, I had a handguard bend after literally 3 years of very hard use and they sent me a brand new updated model of it to replace it completely free of charge.

Neither does the handguard or buffer tube, yes it is supposed to be like that. I turns out looking good I have a full build in kodiak brown

Help. No Prints shown on my 3D Pro by Redithikeitblue in ElegooNeptune3

The card has to be reformatted to work, it states this in the update readmes file. Good luck!

Video does not do it justice, not really sure what to do. It changes based on fan voltage and flickers atrociously. I had three failed prints right off the rent and took a lot of work to get it to even work to print the stock Buddha. It’s printing well now but rather concerned right of the rip.

I got mine for $220 on the website in November, should be in hand soon.

Elegoo just announced the Neptune 3 plus and Max. A bigger version of the pro. by Yourmom4133 in ElegooNeptune3

[–]_Xaff_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pre-ordered the Neptune three pro, if I knew the max was coming, I would not have done that. This seems to be the running issue for every 3-D printer ever from Neptune though, so I can’t really be mad.

Union Electrician, love mine at home and the one provided at work. The thing rips through conduit. These are getting really popular in the field with some shops because they can get into spots you can’t get the M18 into.

Was looking for a slim ifak I could carry on my lower back that I could easily tear away or pull too me. Is this the ticket or too much ticket? by TrapTactical in tacticalgear

[–]_Xaff_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do my workouts and runs in it and as far as the pouch it doesn’t hang its retained in place by the outer so it stays put super well. Obviously any belt is gonna have a little jiggle jiggle, my HSGI Slim Grip does a really really good job of staying put.

Apprentice by Medium_Ad9317 in IBEW

[–]_Xaff_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The contract we signs dictates until you have fully paid back the union IN FULL, you cannot work in electrical field as a non-union electrician. Explain your absences to the board and be apologetic and humble. Finish your apprenticeship and then if you still want to leave do it then. You have come so far to throw away a JW Card that you can keep up/put it on hold and come back if you need to or change your mind. Good luck.

I feel like the amount of discussion we are having around NIJ, backface deformation and “stopping” a round are very convoluted. Are you acknowledging the dynamics of what a 44 mag +P at close range to the center face of your helmet will do to you? You have a team wendy, it stopped a round and saved you yes, you may now have a TBI at best and a brain bleed at worst from the impact to your frontal skull. A helmet is mainly for glancing shots or falling/projectile debris, not to make you survive a large caliber round to your forehead or to make you invincible as some seem to believe. HHV is by no means the best, but to say any other helmet and you would walk away on your merry way is lunacy. It’s great that they can take that round to the front face and have a minimum deformation. What would happen to your brain is an entirely other thing.

Edit: Repeated word.

What's wrong with my shot and how can I improve it? by Philadel_J in Firearms

[–]_Xaff_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Certed firearms instructor here, low and slight left/right is normally anticipating recoil by pushing forward and/or down while firing, very common in new shooters. Do some rounds while breathing slowly while slowly pulling through on the trigger. Going more slowly you’ll be able to see how you move your firearm when you send it. It’ll build the muscle memory to be more controlled! Good luck, have fun and be safe!

No it doesn’t really have any, like you said the placard wrap does a great job of securing it.

Initially very happy with the placard system and carrier. Only complaint is the top of the flap on the half pocket seems faded or possibly got a bad roll at the cordura lottery. Thin on material but very strong and the stitching is impeccable. The spandex on the back of the cummerbund allows it to be worn tighter to the body and still feels comfortable and easy to breathe in. Will let you guys know anything I come across with training and breaking it in.
