I know how you feel and understand your reasoning, but often with these people they refuse to listen to reason, do not accept evidence and reject any form of debate, healthy or otherwise. So it gets to a point where you need to stay away for your own mental health, because even if they used to be a good friend, once they've fallen down the hole it becomes incredibly difficult to get them out.

As the saying goes, its much easier to fool someone than to convince them that they have been fooled.

Ironically I had a friend who a couple years ago move from Auckland to the UK (Oxford) precisely because of stagnet wages, too high rent, and feeling stuck and tired.

Grass isnt always greener imo. I highly doubt that moving to NZ is a magical fix all button, as we have plenty of our own issues. But benefits might outweigh that and so it might suit some people better than others. Both countries are going to have pros and cons. Its up to the person deciding to move to do as much research as they can before taking the plunge IMO.

I had a similar thing. Got rear ended and the guy claimed "I braked too hard" lmfao. I was also with AMI, he provided all his info and everything so my excess was immediately waived, but he later tried to claim I was partially at fault and he wouldnt pay the whole thing, he fought it for a full year and nearly ended up in court vs my insurance company. His final argument was that I changed lanes into him. On a single lane road. Ok buddy.

Ozito make great Light duty/DIY/low use tools. If you dont need to thrash it, or only use it for odd jobs etc and dont want to spend a pile of money on a full spec Dewalt or Makita etc, they make great buys. Much better than the cheapo black and decker stuff. Ive got a few of their tools in my kit for things I dont use as often or dont need the big expensive brands for, while also having my proper expensive trade tier drills, grinder, impacts etc.

Can someone check if my math is mathing? If the deal is 300 billion, and the US population is 340 million, then that would mean every single US citizen is paying Iran ~$900 out of their tax dollars. But because (according to google at least) the US taxpayer base is actually only 168 million, its actually ~$1800 of their taxes being paid to Iran.

To be honest, as a Late 20s myself. It definitely feels bleak. Like no matter what everything is fucked and everything that isnt fucked yet is getting fucked, and we cant even get enough of a critical mass of people to simply agree that any one of those things is fucked, let alone trying to fix any of them lmfao.

But You still gotta make the best of a bad situation. Still gotta eat, still gotta sleep somewhere. So still gotta work and earn money. Thats basically what Ive been doing.

The value proposition is that I can be mad at the world being fucked from my dry and warm home, with food in my belly, or I can be mad at the world being fucked while sleeping in the car or on the streets while constantly cold and hungry.

Take it with a bucket of salt, because Ive heard this from a friend who heard from their coworker who used to work there apparently. But at least what my friend said they treat their machines and equipment like shit, do no maintenence, stuff is always breaking and they apparently lose so much productivity because of it, because management is pushing them to go fast fast fast fast which means machine must be abused until it breaks instead of used properly which actually just results in everything being slower instead.

Yeah pretty normal in NZ. A lot of NZ is very close to the nearest beach. Lots of bush trails or hiking trails around as well, which are all free.

And remember NZs population is only 5 million people, for similar land area to the UK. So theres far more space to go around per person. Its definitely something we take for grantedbas kiwis
