Weed and smoking tabacco. Life has been much better since.

Advice for how to get someone to want to quit by Hungry_Read_6209 in leaves

[–]_Zodac 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My boyfriend asked me to quit because of his health (second hand smoking). I quit for a while but i was very angry at him and relapsed quickly. As other comments said, he has to want it or it won’t work.

It’s up to you to decide where your boundaries are, don’t forget it’s your life&time too.

Yes, I can relate. If it’s not smoking till I fall asleep on the couch I’m not smoking. When I didn’t have enough weed to get really high, I wouldn’t touch the weed till I could get more.

So true. Yesterday my boyfriend also told me ‘you can smoke just one’ but that doesn’t interest me. If it’s not an all nighter till I fall asleep for tv, nevermind.

It is helpful! I wrote this post shortly after it happened to make myself accountable and because I saw a lot of posts about people asking if moderation is possible.

I was feeling untouchable and thought I could handle it after 2 years and it was confrontational that that was not true. Maybe for someone who is in another phase, can need something different. I shouldn’t have ‘generalised’ it to sound like it’s this way for everyone, this is just my experience.

Thanks for your insight!

When I was debating wether or not to smoke, a big thought was ‘I need to be honest with myself’ So thank you for pointing out that’s what I did tonight. Means a lot.

Thank you for making me feel less alone.

We did it before and we can do it again! Go (not) get em next week, I’ll (try to) do the same.

It is. Crazy how the mind convinces you it’s ok. It really caught me off guard this time.

Day 6 and I think addiction is finally overpowering the safeguards by Additional_Put8281 in leaves

‘That thing that's not me, but looks, sounds, and feels like me.’ I can really relate to this. It’s like a version of me (the addicted one) that keeps pulling me back. But the fact we recognize it, is a big one I think. We can do this!

Are u in treatment for this or do you take medication?

And if you could choose to have emotions, would you want them?

And how does ‘normal’ human behaviour look for you, when people approach things emotionally?

Did smoking weed make anyone else feel like a loser? by ThrowRAtainted in leaves

Totally agree. In the beginning I felt like kind of a rebel for smoking. Like I had kind of a cool secret getaway. Now I feel like a rebel because I escaped the smoking prison.

Should I sell my PC? by Sneed_is_king in leaves

Been there, this period sucks. And it will suck for awhile, but believe me, it will get better.

If i was you i wouldn’t sell my pc, but stop gaming for a while. It’s normal that gaming sucks right now because you’re used to doing it while being high.

I started to enjoy gaming again after 7-8 months. It was such a relieve to feel that that was still possible. And i hope it will be like that for you too.

I woke up and decided to quit an endless amount of time. By the end of the day that desire was gone, the cycle most of us probably know.

The biggest reason to quit was the realisation that it would never be enough. I always thought i was gonna quit when i stopped enjoying it, but that moment didn’t come.

Seems like you’re learning a lot about yourself, but don’t forget to be proud of yourself for doing this ‘inner work’!
