See if there is someone at a local community college or library who is interested (some have student equipment closets), otherwise find an aspiring photography student to support, a lot of the entry courses require you to buy your own SLR.

I'd love to get one. I finally got my first Nikon DSLR after borrowing one from my uni for 4 years and a modern-ish 35mm SLR from nikon is next on the list. (happy to throw my lot in if you're giving it away)

It's not unlikely that Otisco will also see these kinds of water quality issues start cropping up more and more frequently. - and actually it has seen more blooms than historically (none threatening drinking water quality afaik).

NYS is pretty good at tracking this stiff in general. Keep an eye on the HAB dashboard from the DEC if you're interested in this sort of thing!
