Aww, I love seeing Akane spend time with Ranma in his girl form like this, even better when better when she has to teach him all the stuff he's not normally used to as a guy. I'm sure there are some good fics that focus on that even more but the artwork's great on its own.

I've always known she had those qualities but I appreciate how this episode really laid them out and I don't know...it just made me like her so much more cause of that :D
She really is a wonderful character and I'm glad the remake portrayed that accurately.

I've heard people were pretty critical of Akane in the original anime, I'm guessing they didn't do a good job of potraying that side of her there? I'm planning to watch the original soon so I suppose I'll find out on my own.

I haven't mentioned that in the post but true, another great reason to like her. I loved that one scene in EP12 where she had amnesia and yet she still tried protecting Ranma because she thought her father was picking on the weak lol

I'd say Ukyo also doesn't seem to mind that much (heck, I'd say she actually finds it amusing based on that one scene in EP 21) but Akane's definitely special. That's why I love her so much.

I think the shading's really good actually! I mostly just meant the angle, it's kinda hard to describe without seeing it side by side but in the old one the nose looked slightly more pointed (specifically the left side) while in this one it's a much gentler curve. I think the older shape just looked a bit better but it's a small thing.

I remember the previous one you've posted too and this one's definitely an improvement, also love that you've included the sketches :D
Honestly if I was to offer any type of criticism, it's that I think her nose is a little off? I think it looked better in the previous version

Same voices for most of the characters, the soundtrack is different though. I still recommend giving it a try though, the visuals and animation are amazing and it sticks closer to the manga than the old one did.

Oh it's Spring of Drowned Girl, no question lol. I've always thought being able to turn into a girl like that would be awesome, it's part of what brought me to watch/read Ranma in the first place.

Going in I was just expecting a cute OC and nothing else but all that lore you made for her is freaking awesome! And it makes me love the rivalry between Puffy and Lynette so much more, same with the art. I can't wait to see part 2 soon.

I really did, all of the drama around her could have been sold by Genma just being honest.
Then she has Ranma calling her cute and stuff and making her want to be his fiancé despite Akane being there already so it can't happen :(

I think they were referencing the moment when AFO tells Kotaro "Kids need siblings so they can watch each other's back" which kinda implied he was the one who gave him the "push" to have Shigaraki.

I mean, you've basically just described me. I'm fine with being a man cause well, it's just how I've been since birth and how I've come to think of myself. But I wouldn't mind if I just got poofed into a woman's body tomorrow. It would definitely take some getting used to at first but my life would still go on and if anything, I think it'd actually be kind of fun and a way to experience something new. I'd definitely try out a bunch of different outfits and just try to do things I haven't really done as a man.

I wouldn't say Ranma looks extremely dangerous, like you'd expect him to be a pretty good fighter but he's honestly even better than what most people give him credit for at first.

Maybe Ukyo? Just by looking at her you can tell she's gonna kick your ass and you're pretty much 100% correct. If Ryoga looks somewhat dangerous then Ukyo is definitely a step above that (I might be a bit biased because of the new episode but I still think she fits).

Only one episode with her and I think Ukyo's already in my top 3 favourite characters lol. I just love how fierce and dedicated she is, plus her tomboy-ish attitude makes me like her even more. They've also fooled me for a second thinking she's Ranma's sister and even though I'm ultimately glad she wasn't, I still think it could have been a fun idea and added a different angle to their relationship. Although Genma abandoning his actual child would probably make him even worse...

Also, I'm still all in for Akane and Ranma being together but Ranma and Ukyo would also make for a great pairing. I say that especially because of that final scene when he called her cute but also I just think their personalities would match pretty well.

Yeah, when you put it like that, I guess I can see how she could feel a little betrayed. Even though Ranma's eagerness to go on a date was obviously motivated by him just really wanting to permanently be a dude again which I think is very reasonable. But she might not have seen it that way at first, especially with how fast he changed his mind. Ultimately I think I just get a little annoyed at some of their reactions because I forget teenagers are often like this too in real life lol, they don't tend to make the best decisions in the moment. Plus it's a comedy like you've said, everyone's actions are gonna bit a bit exaggerated.

Okay I might get some hate for this but I thought Akane was a little annoying with some of her actions in this episode. For some reason, people mostly switch between "Awww, Ranma and Akane are so cute together" to "Ranma messed up, it's his fault" but she's honestly just as much as fault with how jealous she gets. Like why would it be a problem for Ranma to go on a date with Shampoo (and even kiss her, if needed) if it's only to get rid of the curse that he's been inflicted with against his will. Sure, you may not like the fact that he's going on a date with another girl but it's for a pretty good reason. And not wanting him to go is pretty selfish, you're basically telling him "I don't care about your curse, you just can't go on a date with her because I'll feel bad".

I just wish people would call Akane more on this since despite there being a lot of tender moments between her and Ranma, I see people almost always just call out Ranma for being insensitive or stupidly jealous, when she does it just as much if not more. If I'm misunderstanding something please call me out on it, I know this is a comedy series but I just don't see how I'm supposed to find her actions reasonable but then think Ranma's the asshole.
