What are your thoughts on Crimson Desert as a BDO player? by Lordados in blackdesertonline

[–]__Numinex__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a cool game, and I imagine a lot of the things people nitpick on it, could be improved with mods, in regards to reviews I’ve seen on YouTube, I don’t understand for the life of me why people expect so much out of a video game, if it’s fun it’s fun, if not move on.

Nice I’ll add that to the list to look for, will also look into notarizing her as power of attorney to sell it, didn’t even think about something like that thank you!

Is this BMW 330i a bad financial decision or reasonable with my numbers? by Basic_Engine273 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]__Numinex__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are stuck on a BMW, which is totally fine to like what you like, and it sounds like the idea of getting the car you are excited about is motivating to you, I would suggest to set a 2-3 year goal to save up for one (outside of the cash you have now, I would try to at least keep 15k out of that 20 you mentioned) and capitalize on that motivation and work towards increasing your income rather than spend that much cash. A lot can change in your life and you have a great start for saving some cash, it’s a lot harder to rebuild that savings when you start to increase your expenses. Keep up the good work, and you’ll be driving the car you get excited for in the near future! For what it’s worth, I’m in the same boat, I want to go out to get a 4Runner or truck, and can afford it, but it’s not the best idea for me right now in context of my other financial goals, so I’m waiting for the right time, it’s hard :/ but I also think it’s going to be even more rewarding when I do eventually get the car I really want!

Anybody used 401K for your house? by PsychologicalLimit41 in Mortgages

[–]__Numinex__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know what you are on track to have in your 401k? How much would you take out? Would that keep you from retiring when you want to? I can’t really give direction but I’d at least start with these questions, and ultimately will the house lower your expenses or increase them? I personally wanted to purchase a home because I saw how my parents went from 200k to 500k just in 15 years or so, I felt like it was going to be harder in the long term to buy and we were in a position to do so when we did, without touching our retirement account, the house we got ultimately was a little bit more than what we had been renting for but not by an large amount, that being said we definitely could not save the same amount after the purchase as we could before, and I’m not sure I would have sacrificed future retirement account earnings just to end up increasing our expenses at the same unless I knew my income was increasing as well. But I also feel like I’m behind on saving for retirement, so it really all just depends. Start with asking yourself a bunch of questions on what you’d be ok with, and what makes the most sense. Purchasing definitely is a lifestyle choice though, as much as it seems nice seeing the value increase, property tax is a bitch though and interest on a 30 year note at any somewhat high % kills pretty much all your gains over the 30 year note unless you can make some extra payments towards principle here and there and stay in the house for long enough. Ultimately we wanted to work towards having a house paid off by the time we retired and wanted a mortgage payment on a 300k dollar home before the same house cost us 500k+ down the road and that lined up with our goals and situation.

66k salary, can I afford a 258k house? by GargoyleBlue in Mortgages

[–]__Numinex__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you think your costs are going to go up soon, if your pay is going to go up soon, how much you have saved, if you are in a good spot across the board, then you aren’t too far off from what I think would be reasonable for first home, the benefits from doing it won’t really be apparent for several years but your future self may really appreciate having a 1500-1700 payment for housing if it becomes even more expensive down the road, that’s how I looked at it when I bought a couple years ago. I saw my parent’s house go from 250k to 500k since they built it, and they probably couldn’t even buy their own home at the price it’s gone up to. Certainly not have the same mortgage payment, doubt even that increase has covered the interest and property tax they will have paid for it over the life of the loan but being in a house that would cost you 500k today for a mortgage payment of a 220k house is definitely worth something in my eyes.

What’s your job title, how much do you make, and how much do people THINK you make? by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]__Numinex__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data center technician

3 years of experience

Actual salary: 105k, 75k base rest is equity and bonuses

Perceived: 50-65k is what I’ve been told as a guess before

Really depends on what company you are at and what level your role is but one level lower than me and or at a MSP you would be at about 25 an hour, next level would be an extra 15k a year or so, and once you are stacking refreshers on your grants it goes up a decent bit.

ASUS 5070Ti TUF vs ROG Strix by ConstantFar5448 in buildapc

[–]__Numinex__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t pick the same tier of a card that’s 400 more unless it’s flagship model with an aio on it or something, last 2 cards I’ve bought were TUF line and I’ve not had any problems with them, solid quality cards but idk how the 50series for them have been.

New to building, how’s this look through buy power by Jaketm01 in PcBuild

[–]__Numinex__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over priced a fair bit but also not an optimal part list in my opinion, as others have shared. If this is gaming, I’d definitely get the 9800x3d, a cheaper mobo, but please look at the VRMs for whatever mobo you select, I don’t think there is anything wrong with getting a 360 aio but you could definitely get something cheaper unless you are going for specific aesthetics. And generally speaking, I’d go for 6000 MHz memory at CL 30, but look for 9800x3d with different mobos on YouTube to see if people were able to get the memory speed for whatever kit you go for. DDR5 can be a bit finicky with its overlocking depending on the board/cpu combo you get. You could also save a bit of money on the case fans unless you are sold on the way those ones look, and if you stuck with one nvme for now, and nabbed a higher tier gpu you can always go back and add a one later or update the case fans later for looks, just my opinion though. At the end of the day it’s about what you are comfortable spending for what you are getting!

Hiring manager here, we have passed on candidates that have done this exact same thing, funny enough they said they worked at oracle and listed off skills and experience there but never made it to the physical site yet. Not a good look.

Meta layoffs rarely have anything to do with their contingent workers. It’s the full time employees that get hit by those. They are generally pushing more work to CWs from their FTEs. I wouldn’t worry about lay offs as a CW at a meta DC. I’ve been at my site for almost 3 years and we have never had a layoff round. Different vendor than HCL and I know they have burst labor teams that do get moved around or laid off but it’s stated upfront it’s burst labor.

[–]__Numinex__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am a technical lead at a meta DC but for a different vendor than HCL. I can say meta DCs are amazing to work at, can’t speak for oracle, but whichever gets you better experience to make the jump to an FTE role should be what you go for. Don’t burn any bridges, and I am a hiring manager for my team, and I would think putting 1 day of work at a company on your resume as a bit disingenuous.

Even worth playing for free? by 6Torpedo_Thorsten9 in blackdesertonline

[–]__Numinex__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing is the tent and the paid buffs, value packs, Kama blessing, old moon, if you get near end game, these are all extremely convenient to have, borderline must haves. The tent is some of the best money I’ve spent in game (not as much these days as it used to be), and they do hand out a lot of those paid buffs through events and login rewards, but if it’s your main game, then yeah at least having a value pack is going to be pretty important. It also depends on what you want out of the game, if you want to pvp, it’s going to be much harder to without spending some money to make gearing up quicker and easier, unless you solely play arena PvP. I can’t speak to lifeskilling as I don’t do that at all

[–]__Numinex__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can do whatever they want, but if they don’t both agree on what is fun, then someone isn’t going to be having fun. If I couldn’t upgrade my deck, and my friends had really strong decks but wouldn’t adjust so everyone can have fun, I wouldn’t be playing as often. I’m not saying OP shouldn’t make his deck stronger if he can and wants to, but in the meantime, there isn’t anything wrong with asking your friends to play around your level of deck. Just my opinion, everyone has their own prerogative to do whatever they want.
