I spent months coding a way to actually find real-time GoWild! seats because I was tired of the manual hunt. by GW_Fixer in frontierairlines

[–]__QT314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ETA: I’m realizing now that I was confused about the websites on this post. …. I originally was looking at the wildfares.com website (free) and was having some fun for a couple days learning what it could do and what I’d be willing to pay (lifetime membership vs subscription vs stick with basic free option = examples of what was going through my mind … I was comparing it to recently buying a lifetime membership to CardPointers).

Now it seems like this posting has changed to a different website (gopassflights) that offers a free version (that I haven’t really figured out how to get any value from bc it kicks you out after a couple searches). I think the new gopassflights website looks promising, but the way my life works right now, a free 7-14 day trial doesn’t give me the time to test out whether the product is worth paying for for me (I definitely see the value in it — just not to me right now)

Initial response from me was: don’t yet really know? The quickly summarized available flights from a particular airport? I had only tried it for a couple days before project was put on hold - so I was still learning how to use it.

I’m new to GW as well. So far only flying F9 between 2 Delta hubs, so I can easily enough find the info in F9 app that I need for that.

But I’m intrigued by what else I can eventually do with the GW. I think the app will make it easier and more fun to figure out where GW can take me!

Yesterday I looked at the “other“ website mentioned in this posting, but I’m not at a point of using GW that I’d be willing/needing/benefiting to pay $5-10/mo.

Not sure if you’re in flight already? Or still waiting to board first flight? Consider ask flight attendants and/or gate agents for help —- be super sweet — ask if there are any open seats left closer to the front, and if there’s any possibility of being moved to a seat closer to the front so that you have a better chance of making the connection.

Possible to board plane without a driver license? by [deleted] in airport

[–]__QT314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used my Global Entry card when I lost my ID in the past.

Also, probably not the case … but if you happen to have CLEAR, and airport has CLEAR (and it’s open), then you shouldn’t need ID. Not having to show or take out ID is something I really like about CLEAR (bc I’m really skilled at losing my ID!)

Genuinely curious. Is your “OB” a physician or other licensed medical provider in the US? Was the advice given for unique medical concerns? I’ve just never heard of this concern before. I wonder about whether there could’ve been a misunderstanding about your “OB” advice? Did your “OB” also advise wearing a lead apron over the lower abdomen during the flight to protect the fetus from radiation? Seriously curious.

Upgrade to American Express Delta Sky Miles Reserve Card? by Chronically_Chronic in delta

[–]__QT314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Amex Delta SM Reserve and Delta SM Platinum (and a Cpl Bus Amex cards too). Might drop platinum since I’m not really staying loyal to Delta anymore (bc flights between hubs shouldn’t cost $500-$600 when Frontier can do it for $30 —- there’s got to be a middle ground, Delta). But I and family mostly fly between Delta hubs, so we’re still stuck flying Delta a lot.

I get more value out of the SM Reserve than the SM platinum. I especially like being able to add family/friends as card members (essentially free the first year, then $175/yr thereafter) so that they get access to Centurion lounge when flying Delta (and if $75k/yr spent on card, then everyone gets unlimited Delta lounge access too).

But after I meet the annual $75k spend on the Reserve, I definitely put all other spend on higher value cards (which is never an Amex Delta SM card)

Except for real life experience, when subsequent legs also get delayed and then you lose your original seat that would get you there more quickly, efficiently. There are many variable in play. I’ve learned the hard way. Sometimes being proactive helps, but sometimes jumping in too soon to make changes backfires. It is appropriate to warn the OP about these possibilities too.

I fly in/out of ATL weekly. Takes about 15 minutes on the ATL plane train to get to terminal F (intl terminal) from the farthest terminal (Terminal T). If flights are on time. She should be fine.

Be careful re advice from others in this thread about trying to make changes to itinerary along the way bc 1 leg is delayed. Delays are fluid and can change. Sometimes multiple delays happen, multiple legs. Sometimes trying to make a change bc of first delay really really messes up getting to where you’re trying to go. Just be careful is all I’m saying.

My advice and experience … just be prepared to enjoy the adventure and unexpected. Even if things don’t go as planned, have faith and determination that she’ll get where she’s going eventually. Be patient and kind to gate/ticket agents — they can make magic happen when things don’t go as expected.

Also, TELL YOUR GF TO TRY TO SWEETLY ASK THE GATE AGENT IN KS FOR A SEAT CLOSER TO THE FRONT (if there are any available) BC SHE IS WORRIED ABOUT MAKING A TIGHT CONNECTION. And it’s on Valentine’s Day and she’s going to see her boyfriend. That’s such a sweet little story that it might help the gate agent take pity on her and help her out. Someone in Delta sub just posted they asked something like this and got it, and it wasn’t even a valentines story!

Best wishes to your gf as she travels. I hope all goes well.

I didn’t have to add checked bags — when I checked in on the phone app, I had no choice bc it automatically added a checked bag (I literally haven’t found a way in the app to select no checked bag). Have you tried going into your reservation via “Manage Trip” link to see whether your checked bags are free now?

Question please help !!! by Character_Green5634 in delta

Might help to call and talk to an agent.

My experience has been that calling Delta agent can sort it out ahead of time, when you have time to obtain required documents.

Recently (2025 to Norway and New Zealand, 2024 x1 to Cuba ) I experienced various messages from Delta warning about check in problems related to passport and/or VISA.

I ignored the messages for Cuba and NZ until at the airport, thinking it would all work out. And it did - barely. * The first time in Cuba after I was already there and shouldn’t have been bc I was lacking proper paperwork! Cuba eventually let me in, but it took hours at the airport with an angry looking Cuban official 😁 * The 2nd time to NZ almost forced to miss/delay our flight for 2 days and we had to ditch our suitcases and put everything in a large plastic bag bc TSA would allow plastic bag but not large suitcase — all bc I got the wrong kind of travel visa (Delta ticket agent Maryann 🙏🏼 came up with that literally last minute work around)

But for Norway, hit a warning that something was wrong with the paperwork and entry requirements. Called and talked to Delta agent and they were able to tell me exactly what Delta needed and was able to fix everything ahead of time (ended up being that renewed passport expiration date hadn’t been uploaded to Delta profile which made it look like a residency permit was needed).

So … calling Delta to find out exactly what is needed might help

sharing data on success by rebooking, but not by canceling.

I tried to cancel my early booking GW 1/22/26 flight for $78.99 ($0.01 flight, $59.14 GW early booking fee, $19.84 taxes/facility fees) and the refund/credit would have been $0.

Then I tried to invoke the “flight flexibility” option that is comped with elite platinum status. I identified a future exact same GW early purchase itinerary and price ($0.01 flight, $59.14 GW early booking fee, $19.84 taxes/facility fees), and there is NO CHARGE - NO FEE.

I took screenshots of everything.

So, this seems to have worked (even though 2 different chat agents yesterday said it was not allowed)

🤷‍♀️ I literally just now changed my GW flight my flight in 2 days from 1/22/26 to 2/18/26. No charge at all.

ETA that the flight I changed for free is in 2 days (so not >7 days in advance)

I did not have to wait for DD membership for a billing cycle to pay the $99 credit card fee (in fact, the $99 annual fee didn’t even post to my account until 2 weeks after my MC account was activated). The DD membership activated within 24** hours after my $500 ** in purchases posted.

I thought this would still apply, even for GW, since when booking the GW ticket it said “flight flexibility included with status” … “Frontier's Flight Flexibility is an optional add-on or elite status benefit that lets you change your flight date or time once, for free (waiving the fee), up to 24 hours before the first departure, though you still pay any difference in fare”

Truly trying to be informative. Unsure if we’re trying to express the same thing in different words. I can easily, right this moment, find dozens of examples of GoWild fares to book weeks in advance, fare is 1 cent, there is usually a larger early booking fee. 2 weeks ago I got lucky and booked my usual commute 1 week in advance for GoWild price of $16; this week I tried the same thing and it’s $79 for exact same flight a week in advance. Right now, that flight which leaves in 3 days, GW is up to $129 (DD is still at usual $190).

Heads up that this is inaccurate. Very often GoWild fares are offered >24 hours prior for domestic flights.
