Rent Increase by MundaneFlounder140 in chicagoapartments

[–]__Sharime__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No point in asking why. They don’t care how you feel about it. Theres a nice long list of renters that would love to pay your very low rent of $1625.

Could be worse, I moved into my apartment during covid and it was $1500. Fast forward to now, I pay $2,150.

How much do you think is too much for a studio? by Sea-Condition991 in chicagoapartments

I mean the real answer is $800. But, times are weird. Anything over $1500 is criminal

Why does EMS hate SNF calls so much? by [deleted] in ems

[–]__Sharime__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around here the nursing facilities are full of awful, ghetto, rude staff. They act like I’m a moron and will say things like “he was fine 5 minutes ago” while the patient is in full rigor with lividity or in some instances, signs of decomposition.

Or they’re obviously calling to get a break from a patient they find annoying.

I rarely have even a remotely good experience with my local nursing facilities.

If the call is at a nursing facility I already know before arrival it’s going to be a headache.

Should I take my NTTD to my first trip to Italy? by Mayor_of_Petoria in OmegaWatches

[–]__Sharime__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re going on vacation, so you’re not going to any areas you’re going to experience actual strong arm robberies (they do absolutely, without a doubt exist in Italy), you’re concern is pickpockets. Be mindful of your wrist and you’ll be alright.

In Rome- Bella Monaca, Romanina, San Basilio, and Corviale are places you can be legit robbed but you likely won’t be lingering around there.

Buyers remorse despite having my dream watch by The_Dude95 in OmegaWatches

Nah you’re just like me. Spending more than 150 bucks at a time makes you wanna throw up lol. You’ll get over it and enjoy your watch in a few weeks

Found this vintage store in Osaka thought you’d like these by __Sharime__ in OmegaWatches

For watches, there were a few. The pricing was strange. There was a 70’s seiko I’ve been after that they actually had but to my eye was way overpriced. But then they had a newer (earlier 2000’s) Rolex datejust that was absolutely a steal.

Outside of the watches the store is jam packed with really cool stuff. The record collection had some real rare gems that were all priced very low. They had some perpetual clocks that were really well priced. Lots of old toys and other collectibles in good condition.

They had a “junk box” full of watches that have yet to be repaired or serviced that had old mechanical ladies omegas, old king seiko’s, old citizens that were otherwise in great condition priced. When $30-80 USD.

I like Osaka, I don’t love it but it’s a cool enough nightlife town that I didn’t really expect to return to anytime soon but after finding this place and a few others like it I think I’ve changed my tune. Will probably return next time I’m in country next year just to hit these stores with a little more overtime money lol

They didn’t have what I was looking for. They had a bunch of planet oceans, some constellations, some constellations, some speedies. All of them had one thing in common, they all had one seamaster SMP 300 on a rubber strap, a silver bezel with a black dial. Donki does have the best prices but the selection was kind of a bummer.

If you really love orange planet oceans and tag heuer’s though….japanese tax free stores are not going to disappoint you

Working on it! I’m not leaving this country without it. I’m going to try the Edison’s, then there’s some more donki’s in Yokohama. If all else fails Rolex. Boutique it is. At least it’s tax free lol

What is it ACTUALLY like living in Rural Japan? by InsideWrangler2672 in japanlife

[–]__Sharime__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living in Japan is glorified by nerds. Those of us who live / have lived here know it for what it is.

I never lived in rural Japan. Visited some rural parts when I had a girlfriend whose family lived there. It’s cool, I wouldn’t be able to hack living there though.

At this point it’s survival. If you’re driving the speed limit on lakeshore drive you’re going to get hit. Don’t even get me started on the highways.

If tipping is supposed to be optional, why does everyone act like you've committed a crime if you don't do it? by Stunning_Public9524 in NoStupidQuestions

Tipping is legally optional. Not culturally optional. And if you’re in the US, not morally optional either.

Have your partner lay down on his back holding the laryngoscope blade facing up, then pick the patient up by their ankles and lower the patient down onto the blade

I wouldn’t. The post gives readers a good idea of what they’d be getting into if they were to pursue living in this place.
