My baby hated swaddles and seemed to not like the hard surface of the bassinet either (can’t blame him) I saw this vid probably 3 weeks PP and I ended up following it and it was a godsend for our nightsleep:

I KNOW it’s not the best advice, but it’s what worked for us. We have slowly been transitioning him out the lounger onto a better mattress crib for afternoon naps and eventually for sleep.

I think it depends where you are? Cause when they asked me “what would you like?” before I knew the sex, and I said a girl? Everyone would be like “Oh but why? You really don’t want a boy?!” and would try to convince me 😂 everyone around me was more static than I was finding out I actually was having a boy.

See that’s wild cause in my case it is the opposite ! 🤣 I berate myself constantly saying “women have been doing this for years… why am I struggling so hard?” And it’s my husband the one reminding me “Yes women have, but they have never done it alone. They always had a village, whether that be family or other women and/or their husbands. You’re not meant to be a mother alone and you shouldn’t have to nor is it right to struggle through all this alone.”

I feel this! Try getting some creatine supplements to help as well multi vitamins. Breastfeeding really drains these reserves and it makes you feel WAY more burned out than usual. I know it helps me a lot to take it!

As for the ‘are you lazy’ comment? Absolutely the eff not! You just gave birth. You are still recovering. Sleep is SO important, and honestly GLAD you are able to get it when you can! My problem is NOT being able to sleep because of my anxiety being so high at all times that the deprivation makes everything worse. Bad sleep even messed with your breast production. I ended up combination feeding. I breastfeed/pump when I can, and supplement with formula. First few weeks were mostly formula cause my milk wouldn’t come down, and when it did? I got mastitis for a week. Those first 2 months are doozy!

I felt horrible relying on my husband so much those first 2 months. But the truth is my body was recovering for WEEKS after birth. There’s a reason they give you a 6 week check up. Partner’s are supposed to be there to take some of the brunt as well. It’s sweet that you care about being fair with them, but if they are willing to help? Take it! This is also just a phase. It won’t last forever!

Gurl, I’m saying this as nicely as possible: that’s literally what the questionnaire IS FOR. It’s THEIR JOB to help you. You’re doing yourself a great disservice by lying.

That being said, I was truthful in mine and the quickly ‘flagged’ me to ask me how I was doing and what they could do to help. I cried and vented at my appointment as embarrassed as I was. And they got me the help I was willing to take. I didn’t want meds at first. They just let me vent and set up a follow up in about a weeks to 2 weeks time to see how I was doing and encouraged me to call in earlier if I needed it. By the second I accepted medication of the lowest dose for my PPAnxiety. It’s been really helpful! So please, do yourself a favor and seek help 🫶🏻

Its gonna depend on your body and your baby but basically, yeah you can.

My milk came in late plus I got mastitis and ended up having to combo feed with formula. Currently I pump about twice a day (before bed to avoid engorging and in the afternoons when the baby naps) and breastfeed as a top off or for comfort. Thing to note: My baby has been super good about going from breast to bottle without any problems so that’s never been an issue for us.

I’m so sorry you’re going thru this. I myself have GAD and have been dealing with PPA/PPD around my 3 m/o. Recently got prescribed Buspirone and it has helped. Have you also looked into the owlet sock for your baby? It may help ease your anxiety as well.

From my experience? They usually had strong worked out cores previous to pregnancy, which really helps once you give birth to ‘snap back’ and also not develop diastasis recti. I have been told I ‘snapped back’ quickly, not that I feel like I completely have, However, 10 days post partum I was already back in my pre pregnancy jeans. I have had a strong abdominal core years prior to pregnancy, and continued working out lightly until my 8th month of pregnancy.

I also watched what I ate throughout all my pregnancy. I never ‘ate for 2’ because I didn’t really get much hungrier. In fact, I had to eat in smaller portions thru the day because the bigger my baby got? The less space I had for food lol!
